    Default Israel Vasquez-Rafael Marquez 3

I know sometimes we take too much from a previous fight, I mean most people assumed Morales would beat Pacquaio in the second fight, a lot of people thought Rafa would beat Vazquez after watching the first fight.

Still even knowing that, I just watched the second fight again and the difference in how these two guys took each other's punches makes me think Rafa's gonna have a hard time in the third fight. I mean Marquez' legs went pretty much every time he got hit with a clean flush punch from Vazquez, while Vazquez just pretty much brushed off most of Rafa's.

Can Marquez change his style, outbox Vazquez. I'm not sure, maybe he can for periods of time in the fight but I don't think he just thoroughly outboxes him for 12 rounds. Rafa's legs looked pretty shaky last time out. Maybe he can catch Vazquez with something big and change the fight, even though Vazquez has a damn good chin Rafa still has good power.

Basically, how many people think Marquez will win the third fight?

I am really want this to happen, anyway the last fight goes, this trilogy will be up there with Gatti-Ward, and Morales-Barrera.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

After the first fight i really didn't think Vasquez had it in him to win a rematch. But he came back strong. Some credit needs to be given to his new coach Rudy Perez. If the third fight is as good as the first two, which it should be, then this certainly will rank among the very best trilogies.

I guess I'm just assuming its gonna happen but who knows.

Vazquez just seemed totally determined in the second fight, he might not have that exact same level of motivation for the third one but it still seems like a tough fight for Rafa.

If its a war of attrition type fight, Vazquez is just the sturdier guy, stronger legs, better chin. He could lose on cuts but an all out war is to his advantage IMO.

As honest as I can be here, make the best man win.

All that matter to me is that this fight lands either in Los Angeles preferably or Vegas so that I can make the trip.
I was at their 1st fight and to be at the 3rd one would be insane....

Come on Shaw & Sycuan... Make me proud.

I look at Marquez as the more skilled of the 2 fighters. If he can make the necessary adjustment (like keeping his left hand up) he wins the fight.

I think the third fight will be the best of the lot. Marquez may box a litle more, and Vasquez will be on the attack. Im sure one will get ko'd again tho. There are so many great matchups at their weight too. Want Ponce to fight one of these guys and Caballero the other.

a fight that could go either way but am leaning a bit towards vasquez as he's able to hurt marquez more.

Public opinion seems to be leaning towards Vazquez. And I can see why. Vazquez is the naturally bigger fighter and he has shown everybody he can hurt Marquez. There's no doubt. He did score knock downs in both fights. But Marquez who moved up in weight to fight Vazquez is a wicked hitter. And he's clearly taken his power up with him. He almost floored Vazquez in the first round of there first fight and shattered his nose. And he hurt Vazquez a couple of times in the rematch. Something Vazquez admitted himself in an interview in the last issue of Ring magazine. Marquez punches also open two ugly gashes over Vazquez eyes. Vazquez to his credit stopped Marquez before those cuts became a factor. Because they were cuts that easily could of caused a fight stoppage. I'm leaning towards Marquez in this fight cause I see him as the more skilled of the two. But a Vazquez win would not surprise me. This is pretty much one of those can't miss fights

Tilting toward Vasquez, but a win for either man wouldn't upset me as this is a fight where the victor will be force to work for the win by the opponent.

Vazquez for me as well. He looks the stronger of the 2
