I know Boxrec isn't reliable source but i am really looking for forward to this match up if this happens Gomez has made quite alot of improvements since The Contender should be good match up.

I think Chavez puts a beating on him in a send a message type fight

I am not underestimating Alfonso Gomez. As long as everyone keeps thinking of him as the reality tv guy and does not take him serious, they might end up losing. Who knows.?
On a side note:
Chavez Jr., fought 11 times in 2004 and 10 times in 2005 and this is from the kid who did not want to follow in his fathers footsteps. Too bad because just image if he would have been really interested in this sport. (And here comes some one that will say that he only fought bums blah blah blah.) I know that. We all know he has no amatuer record. So There.
Oh and BTW? What weight will this fight be at if it happens? Will Gomez move down?
I guess that would be the case.
I think Gomez will win this one quite easy Chavez is 34-0 but he has'nt really fought anybody Gomez has fought the better fighters.
Id like to disagree, but you could be onto something there.Originally Posted by Galaxy.

Did Chavez jr. look half decent last night?
Chavez camp is underestimating Gomez, They are thinking of him purly as a TV show guy who has enough exposure to elevate Jr's status here in the states and line up a big fight for him.....

Chavez looked great. He got hit a little to much. But he showed he ain't scared to go toe to toe against a big hitting opponent.Originally Posted by OumaFan
Chavez Jr. is coming along very well. I really want to see the kid do well. I just think Gomez has shown us more in his career so far and has fought the better fighters. Probably be a competitive fight but I think Gomez would prevail.

Gomez will be by far his toughest test yet... He will give Jr. all he can handle.Originally Posted by Violent Demise

None of us really dislike Jr. do we, seems like we all want him to succeed and become like his Dad.

I think a lot of us have been watching him mature from a boy into a man in the last couple of years thanks to hbo showing a lot of him, he has gotten so much better with every fight and seems very level headed and respectful in and out of the ring. Hes hard not to like. I think his team have done a hell of a job with him keeping in mind he had no amateur fights.Originally Posted by hitmandonny

Well i''m totally in agreement Boom Boom. But i feel he may have had more expierience than they let on. Granted he may not have had much comp, but he may well have been in training more than we know.
