    Default Duddy fight...Opinions and Analysis.

Beneath the Mushroom Cloud left behind by the event that was Mayweather/Hatton, John Duddy puylled off a victory against two-time world title challenger Howard Eastman.

In their previous fights they had two very different opponents and two very different results. Duddy fought 19 year old Prince Aaron of Manchester whom he decimated with body punching and constant aggression. Eastman was ousted of his position at the top of the British rankings by Wayne Elcock.

When the fight was made the common consensus was that Duddy would win and gain valuable expierience from the game Eastman. The reality wasn't far from the prediction as Duddy ground out a decision over 10 and remains undefeated.
However, in my opinion he appeared ordinary and lacking in terms of mobility and inside fighting (which is crucial as he is only 5'9''-5'10''.) Eastman looked well past his best yet Duddy took numerous shots and had a hard night.

So, what are you guys opinions?

IMO he showed improvement, you cant knock his chin or heart and everything else are things he can improve. I thought he rocked Eastman a few times and that knockdown looked legit to me. You also have to take into account Eastman was fighting real dirty butting and hitting behind the head. Most of the holding was Eastman on the inside.

cc guys, yeah Duddy did well to win, but he needs alot of work before he thinks about jumping
in with Pavlik or Taylor. As exciting as these fights would be I really don't think he's ready.
I'd like to see him fight Felix Sturm before these two, it'd be a real tough fight but if he works on
his defence i could see him wining

    Both valid points.
I felt that a fight like that will at least benefit him in terms of expieirience. Eastman was wily and game if nothing else, so thats ten rounds with a difficult opponent.

However it worries me to see him seemingly taking a "step down" to fight Vanda afterwards...

I think its a stay active opponent before the St Pattys Day fight. Probably at MSG. I hope its not Pavlik, since he would just be coming off the Taylor fight.

You're most certainly right in saying its for activity, but i would have prefered vanda last saturday and eastman next before Paddy's day if you no what i mean...
