Call me crazy but i favor Tito in this match up, as tough as Duran is Tito is much bigger, and is much harder hitter. I can't see really anyone standing toe to toe with Tito and surviving. But to be fair to Duran he went all the way up to Middleweight and took on massive Middleweight like Barkley and managed to stand toe to toe, so who knows ?? but i favor Tito by close decision after getting dropped in the 2nd round.

Granted Duran didn't really fight at 147 too much. He really just moved right up to SWW after his loss the Sugar. But come ON guys Duran wins by KO in the 9th round. I am assuming this isn't a 15 round fight of course. Duran would have beat Hagler if their fight was 12 rounds!!! He lost the last two rounds (14 and 15) he was completely out of gas. But he stood toe to toe with Marvelous. Now you really can't tell me Tito would have Anything for Marvelous could you? So how do you think Tito could impose him self on the sly Duran, having said that? Duran would work that body and lay him out in the 9th round.

Of course I am not saying it wouldn't be a good fight. I think Duran had so much more power and 147. Tito wouldn't be the bigger man, really.

Jonny why so hard onb the Pretty Boy? I don't like him, but man he's got skills!

As for the initial question, I can see it going either way. However I do see it going the distance.
We saw Tito's heart oh-so-recently getting up from dual knockdowns against Jones and also the Vargas fight.
And we all remeber Duran clinching victory against BARKLEY.

So I say twelve round decision for....Roberto in an absolute war!

Duran in his day was excellent on defense whilst going forward so I give him the edge/

The Duran that beat Leonard would be hard for anybody to beat but I lean towards Trinidad on this one because of what ICE said.

No one can go toe to toe with Tito at 147 and expect to win. Tito destroyed brawlers and swarmers. Tito would not destroy Duran but he would beat him decisively and possibly stop him late.

Duran is famous for his fights at 147 and up but this was not Duran's best.

yeah at first sight you automatically think Duran becuase obviously hes a MUCH greater fighter overall....however based on the styles and how Duran was outta his comfort zone at 147 i actaully think Tito could stop him late on. Although i wouldnt count out duran wearing him down and stopping Tito late or winning a UD.

I feel that Duran's ability to withstand punches from Hagler and Barkley swayn this fight in his favour.

I would take Duran by Knockout. If Duran was in good shape like he was in his first fight against Leonard, I could not see Trinidad winning this fight. Duran was a master of slipping punches. When people talk about Duran, in many cases, they don't realize that a well trained Duran was a master boxer with an ability to slip punches by waving. Duran took the best punches of Hagler, Barkley, and Sugar Ray Leonard.
