Cause although 99.9% of people are smart enough to see that its a bullshit email, there's still that 0.1% who will reply and give out their personal details, however many idiots appear on the news saying that they have been scammed in similar ways. Ok, I've never really understand these spammers. What are the benefits of spamming? Why do they send out virus to random people, are they nerdgeeks out for vengences to us cool guys

Whats the point of spamming? are they after our social security number or something? Do they make money off of this and how? can someone explain this to me. I just don't get these spammers.

As Rhun said, there are a percentage of people who fall for the attempts of these guys to get bank details etc. They do find people who are trusting/dumb enough to be exploited.

i used to wonder the same thing... the viruses that just mess up your computer not logging anything or dailing anything and have no porpus always makes me wonder if its the anti virus program makers sending them out to keep people buying.

kinda like a window replacer going around at night smashing windows

another thing i wonder about is if its possible to have net-terrorist. like in the movie live free or die hard. and if ever aliens come to earth I imagine it would be so easy for them to know everything just by intercepting our worldwidenet....just like the movie transformer
