Default RICKY HATTON: "I can't stop crying."

    Hatton "can't stop crying"

by Mark Doyle, 20 December 2007

Ricky Hatton has revealed he cannot stop crying in the wake of his devastating welterweight title defeat to Floyd Mayweather.

‘The Hitman’ was stopped in the tenth round of his bout with the WBC champion in Las Vegas a fortnight ago and Hatton freely admits that the loss, the first of his professional career, has had a massive effect on him.

“I feel like a woman at the minute - I can't stop crying. All that's missing is a pair of t*ts,” the 29-year-old Mancunian is quoted as saying by metro.co.uk.

“I feel like my world has come to an end. It's going to take a while for me to get my head round it. The biggest fight of my life was the biggest disappointment.

“I think the problem was I lost my head a bit. I was feeling sorry for myself.”

However, Hatton is not entertaining any thoughts of retirement and is planning to drop back down to 140lbs and prove that he is still one of the finest fighters in the world.

“I'm still the best light-welterweight in the world, so I'll get over it,' he claimed. “I'll be back.”

So he has a fanny lol anyways you have to admire him he is one funny character saying that and hopefully he will come back but whether he's the same man or not as before is another question.

They better put Ricky on a suicide watch and make sure he does not drown his sorrows in alcohol at the pub.

British Troll needs to lighten up. He's got nothin to be ashamed of. Crying is NOT the answer.

I hope this defeat hasnt affected him mentally. It will be a great shame to see Hatton loose to a fighter at 140. Imagine how gutting it will be to see Paul Malingaggi or Junior Witter beating him....

How embarassing if this is true. Stop being a b#tch baby. Ricky has himself to blame for this loss. Damn, maybe he is ruined now. Please say it ain't so.

I agree it will be closer than what most people think it would be , but I think Hatton offers that bit more at 140 than Witter.

Ricky is a tough kid, and he will get past this.

However, he won't be the same fighter mentally. You can never re-capture that inner feeling of invincibility. When he is training (or fighting), he now knows that he is one good shot from serious trouble.

It was easy to disregard the 12th round of Collazo as fatigue/short notice/bigger man/ etc. But Floyd was neither a particularly big man, nor a particularly heavy hitter (PBF isn't heavy-handed like Zab Judah at 140/147). And even the earlier shots were buckling RH.

I'm sure Ricky had a tremendous amount of confidence (rightly so) in his chin and durability after facing down Kostya Tszyu, who was a killer. Now, some of that confidence would be (again, rightly) shaken.
