    Default Meldrick Taylor

I was just reading the post about Wilfredo Benitez, and thought of Meldrick Taylor who also suffers from Pugilistic Dementia (sp). Does anyone know whether he is financially stable? I saw a an HBO program about him, and it was really disturbing. Did all of his "damage" stem from the Chavez fight? I do not remember him taking too many shots during his career.

Pugilistic Dementia take approximately 17 years to set in. Many people blame Taylor's on the notorious gym wars in Philadelphia.

Also I doubt Taylor has any money left. He has gone through a bad drug addiction and served some time in prison recently.

I'll never forgive Richard Steele for robbing him of what would have been the highlight of his career. 2 freaking seconds left!

Even if you think Taylor got robbed like i do as well, his career was over. That fight took so much out of him, and then he moved up to fight Terry Norris, i see that fight and Norris was so much bigger than Taylor. I think his fight with Chavez plus Norris fight ruined him.

I saw a recent picture of him a few weeks ago and I didnt even recognise him. He got old, and overweight. Honestly he looked about 50. He was a damn good fighter in his prime, he just like to trade to much.

Yeah, Duva telling him he needed the last round and then, during the show, he's trying to tell us he told Meldrick to stay away. What a clown. It was probably Duva climbing up on the apron that caused him to lose the fight - he was probably thinking 'why is Lou up there, is he stopping it?'.

Two seconds, I've seen referees take two seconds just to wipe the gloves off after a knockdown.

Although I remember an interview with Steele where he claimed that years later Taylor thanked him for stopping it.

The interview at the end of the show is so sad. I could hardly understand a word of what he said.

Do not forget Gleenwood Brown tuning Him Up prior to Norris.Great war with Top notch Taylor climbing off canvas twice .Brown took him to the edge and put on strong fight.
One of the best clinics and outstanding displays from Taylor was Vs. James Mcgirt Tko 11 .Great display over fellow Master tactician.
