Sharla; Sparring 12 Rounds:
Bilbo; Row....150,000 metres now!!!!

Sorry for all the pressure Rhun - I know you can do it though - so go for it - every little thing counts and you don't have to do everything perfectly from the word go but every little improvement - no matter what other people do - is something you have every right to be really, really proud of! |

Hey guys....I've been reading this thread every now and again, and I'm a little overwhelmed, a little intimadeted, and a fair bit motivated too. I've sort of stagnated recently, just floating around the 288lbs mark losing some during the week, then putting it back on at weekends when I'm off work, and get led astray by dirty beer-swilling friends.
With JT's advice of mornings, I've repeatedly tried getting up then, but only once or twice been able to make it out of the door. Winter doesn't help, and the fact that if I did get up, I'd just ride my bike around the local industrial estate isn't exactly thrilling either.
Went climbing today, but visiting the parents this weekend so likely to get forced into a Sunday roast at lunchtime (then dash off to my place to ride the bike hopefully).
Anyhow, thanks all again for the backing, and hopefully I'll update soon when I've started edging down those scales and the stamina's edging up again.

You'll have to keep your log going Rhun - I like all the ideas you're inspiring. We're all gunning for you dude!
Thought Bilbo's rowing thing was interesting too - maybe not something I'm likely to use in the immediate future but it's interesting hearing about what's out there! |
Actually Danny Williams our former British heavyweight champ and one of the guys made famous for beating the shell formely known as Mike Tyson is a very keen rower and uses the Concept 2 as part of his training.
Unfortunately the other part of his training took place at the Mr Kipling's Factory so I'm not sure if this is a positive endorsment or not |

You gotta hit that treadmill son, start running in those Welsh valleys.
If you keep trying by the summer you may have slimmed down to look like Hurley from Lost. Keep going and by Christmas you could look like Rowland from Grange Hill. |

How could I criticise when I'm the same and to be honest love such encouragement in training!!!
Sorry if it came across as criticism

Anyway, if you are a good climber Rhun you're probably in a decent condition despite your weight, it's a tough activity. Keep at it. |

Bilbo you are one baaaadd man!!! | It's OK hitmandonny I knew you didn't mean it that way I just thought maybe you had a point. Poor Rhun is getting a lot of attention - not all of it good -
Bilbo I'll find plent of 40 year old women to whoop your ASS in your rowing challenges just to humiliate you if you don't ease off! - one of my older bros was on the national junior rowing team and I'm already making up appropriate names for him - Marjorie, Val, Mavis ......... Quote:

Trust me with my lungs I dream of being able to beat a 40 year old woman, the girl whose time I'm currently chasing is 64.
I'm not even kidding
Rhun knows I'm only messing, after all, all fat people are jolly right

She rows every single day though and has done for years so it's not like she's an ordinary 64 year old woman. She's like Super Gran.
Compared to an average 33 year old male though I'm pretty terrible. According to the rankings table I'm the slowest for my age group in Britain. It doesn't bother me though as everyone on the board is a rower obviously so not refelctive of some of the lazy, fat out of shape obese men who exist in the world.
I'd still beat Rhun for example |
