Default You know, for a fight that nobody cares about....

...Jones Trinidad sure is getting a lot of attention in the media.

Been looking around at all the boxing sights and pretty much all of them have at least 2 or 3 articles on the fight or one of the fighters.

Waco's round by round is a little low on the page count but it is still at a deacent 7 with a few days left to go.

Many wright about how this fight is meaningless and how both fighters are well passed their best but it has not stopped them from writing about it.

This fight might not be PPV material but it has sparked some interest amongst many boxing fans not just casual viewers.

Lets just hope they can deliver a good competitive fight.

I'm gonna watch it. I'm actually pretty excited. This fight should have happened in 2000-2001 but it's still a fight between former exciting P4Ps that are trying to reclaim their lost glory. RJJ KO 9.

Its really the only big fight right now,and it has a good,if not spectacular undercard.
Heck nobody really took Holyfields comeback seriously,or Ali's fight with Holmes, but they generated ink as well
Don King has jerked around the wrong people for too long, and now he's stuck with these desperation fights,as far as I can tell he's only got one champion in his entire stable any more, and he probably loses Diaz after his contract is up after his next fight
Between his over investing in the heavyweight division, not seeing that the buisness was changing drastically, and finally his reputation for ripping off his boxers, this was probably only a matter of time. But its fun to watch it happen anyway

Fuck don king. He tried to ruin boxing. But not even don king could ruin it. It will always live. Just imagine if he had been involved in lacrosse or something though.

I could watch Trinidad if he was 80 years old, just to see one more thrilling KO.

Its more of a curiosity thing then actual caring about the bout itself....everyone wants to see what if anything Trinidad has to offer after a 2 yr layoff and at the highest career weight...and If Jones can look good enough to make 1 more serious run at a title...nothing more nothing less

i don't recall any clamoring for this fight when these guys where in their prime. trinidad peaked out at welter and jones at light heavy. they where always a weight class or 2 apart.

This is a big reason for the level of attention. There hasn't been a big fight since Mayweather-Hatton, which was 6 weeks ago. If this fight were sandwiched in between a bunch of other big fights, it wouldn't be getting the attention.

What many of the fight detractors refuse to comment on is the fact that Trinidad was one of the most exciting fighters to come along in recent memory and as long as he's in there with a fighter who is willing to trade with him, as Jones claims he is, and as long as these fighters have a spec of what they use to have, this fight should be entertaining.

    Same goes for Jones.

I just hope the arena isn't empty on saturday night. The tickets were outrageously overpriced, and as a result, I've read that there are tons of unsold seats.

The same seats that cost $200 for Cotto-Judah are going for $750-$1500 for this fight.
