    hitmandonny

How do you go from Darius to Gonzalez to Jones when Jones beat Gonzalez before Gonzalez beat Darious.

I know Jones is a lot of people's favorite fighter and I know he is possibly the greatest fighter of our generation but you can't just change the rules in order to give the lineage to the man you want.

JONES WAS NEVER THE LINEAL CHAMPION, get over it. Its not like it's that big of a deal anyway.

See the bottom, styill being edited.
Jones beat Woods for the title in 2002. At stake were the WBC WBA IBF WBO IBO IBA and NBA world light heavyweight titles.

Woods later beat Gonzalez in 2005.

But as I said I had'nt finished the list and had merely tried to acknowledge the best champion at the time.
Check between Foster and Spinks, there was similar confusion at that time.

I'm attempting to clarify a situation and pardon me for posting an unfinished list I had compiled.
Perhaps in future you could offer some contribution, rather than criticising aimlessly.

Woods had beaten Gonzalez in 2001 I believe. But as I said I had'nt finished the list and had merely tried to acknowledge the best champion at the time.

Sorry if I came of as rude but we went through this last month and I just don't understand the confusion.

If it is determined as fact that the Hill - Maske fight was for the Lineal Championship than there is no doubt that the Lineal Champion is Erdei.

Vergill Hill beat Maske to claim the the lineage

Dariusz beat Hill in 1997 before Jones did.

Dariusz did not lose, did not retire and did not move up in weight, which are the ONLY ways to lose or vacate a lineal title, untill he fought Gonzalez and loss in 2003.

On his very next fight Gonzalez lossed to Erdei in 2004

Erdei is still campaigning as a Light Heavy and has not lossed, ergo he is the Lineal Lightheavyweight Champion.

The only way to dispute this (and this is not an opinion, it is the way it is) is by claiming that the Hill Maske fight was not for the Lineal Title. If the Hill Maske fight was for the lineal title than Erdei is the current Lineal champion.

    Did I contribut this time

I thought this had been settled?
I know your still making edits....

RJJ can't be lineal cause when he beat Julio, Julio hadn't even fought Dariusz so that means he wasn't Lineal yet.

Just attempting to clarify how we got to today's situation, still clarification needed in the 70's and lately. Rjj will be off the list as the only reason he was therecwas because of lack of clarity at the time.

Nothing to do with lineage but Bob foster has to be one of my favourites from that list....What a Champ he was.
