This will be a good fight hope Woods comes through victorious.
Best fight out there for Clinton . I was hoping hed ghet a Jones rematch but based on Saturday I still think Jones has his number .
Traver has always been awful but may prod his right arm out often enough to get a decision in this 1 and set up another big fight . I thought he was supposed to be fighting Lacy but this is obviously abetter fight for him
Best of luck to Woods . He can win if he sticks to Tarver, make him work and fight at pace .
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Sadly, I have to say that Tarver will win this fight. It just means that we've got at least another year of Tarver claiming he's the undisputed light heavyweight champion of the world. At least the fight will be decent.
I feel ya bro....but we gotta have faith that woods can pull it out.Originally Posted by albsur2006

So are you telling me that even though you all think Tarver is the superior fighter you hope Woods wins anyway?
I completely agree.
Oops
Tarver's an over-hyped decent fighter who got lucky in catching RJJ on the slide from his prime, and has built a career on that. Woods is a competent light-heavy, nothing fancy, but will have enough to do a number on Tarver, through hard work and the ability to keep plugging away.
Woods KO late on.
Id like to agree with you but if Hopkins couldnt stop Tarver I dont think Woods can either .Originally Posted by superheavyrhun

Tarver hasn't looked skilled in almost 3 years, in his last 3 fights he looked pathetic. Woods has made major improvements in fact he is one of the most improved fighters at the moment. I think he will take Tarver without too many problems if Tarver's last 3 fights are anything to go by. I think Tarver was very overrated even when he beat a shot Roy Jones he didn't impress me at all.Originally Posted by Violent Demise
I agree Tarver's shown nothing in his last three fights to show that he's at world title level, even against an unspectacular champion like Woods.Originally Posted by Ice Cold Boxing

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I think it all depends on where the fight takes place. In the UK Woods will hang on to win a close decision but in the US he probably loses a clear UD.Originally Posted by Violent Demise
Not sure Tarver can stop him, he is 40 years old after all.
I feel sorry for Tarver though, he's one of the most underated fighters in all of boxing imo as everyone hates him to such an extent that they think he's rubbish.
But he KO'd Jones in less than 3 rounds, and beat Glen Johnson as well. He WAS the undisputed light heavy at one time and 5 years or so ago was most definitely a world class operator.
People never give him any credit and nobody ever mentions his age. He's 40 years old, if he's looked poor in the last couple years his age obviously has a lot to do with it.
People who just say he was always shit just annoy me as he clearly wasn't.
Yet the same people will say Glen Johnson is underated
well tarver is forty but he only has half the fights of the other guys his age...jones,hopkins, etc so he should be much better off than them...and because he talks bigger than his skills really are it makes sense that people would over compensate in their disgust for him...so i guess its equalOriginally Posted by Bilbo

both a bit much but understandable....

Cl8inton is one of those fighters that commands admiration because of his attitude and work ethic. By no means gifted naturally, he has worked himself into a champion and I feel he may also work a win against Tarver.
