Thread: IS IT JUST ME ??

Leading upto the Hatton vs Mayweather fight on here and everywhere in general everyone was saying Hatton is going to win this Hatton is better than people think and are giving him credit for Mayweather is in for a shock Hatton's workrate and stamina will be to much for Floyd.Then Hatton gets out fought inside and outside and KO'd by Mayweather now it seem to me like alot of people are jumping off the bandwagon some fair weather fans im thinking.Before this fight a Witter vs Hatton poll would have been about 80% to 20% in Hattons favour now in the most recent one we have Witter 80% Hatton 15% with 5% on the draw.Im no Hatton fan but this is strange to watch when im a fan of a fighter im a fan win lose or draw seems to me perhaps alot of Hatton fans were'nt Hatton fans they were just on the bandwagon and now there all jumping off because the wheels are coming off.

I don't think most people were saying Hatton was going to win Mayweather fight. Only a few of the Hatton fans on here were saying that. Other than that most people were picking Mayweather, it certainly wasn't shock to me Mayweather out fought Hatton on inside, i see a similar type of an opponent aka Jesus Chavez try the samething Hatton did and failed, Mayweather beat Chavez at his own game and i said to all these Hatton fans that Mayweather would stay close to Hatton and pick him apart and they thought i was stupid. And i actually heard some of these Hatton fans, and they were only picking Hatton to support there fellow countryman and they told me they were going with there heart instead of there head. So even the Hatton fans knew it was a big ask for Hatton to beat Mayweather.

To be honest why you may get that impression is because some of the Hatton fans on here noticeably *Yotisdan* aren't posting that much anymore since there boy lost and they haven't got over that Hatton lost yet. I think most people always thought Witter would give Hatton a lot of trouble based on stylistic match up, but its easy for fans to get carried away since Witter is coming off good KO win. And Hatton is coming off a bad KO loss. I still think most people have this as even fight i don't think peoples opinions have changed that much, i think people are just wondering why Hatton does not fight Witter. And i can totally understand there argument considering Witter has been calling out Hatton for years, and Hatton's excuses for not fighting him are pretty lame to be honest. One argument that i can't understand regarding Hatton fans is that *If he fought Mayweather, Tszyu why would he be ducking Witter*. Its pretty simple because in those fights he had nothing to lose because he was fighting the best. With the Witter fight he has a lot to lose and i think he would retire if he lost to Witter because they are bitter rivals and i don't think Hatton could stand losing to his bitter rival, Witter would never let him forget it.

I think once Hatton goes back to his confort zone at 140 he will be hard to beat by most at that weight. His style is most effective against smaller fighters that cannot coup with his preassue and strength. He'll be able to manhandle his opponents at 140.

Still Hatton's style of fighting and living often leads to short careers and I would not be supprised if he lossed to some of the current champions at 140.

You've been huffing too much glue if you think most people thought Hatton was going to beat PBF. Not too many people who are not rabid Hatton fans gave him too much of a chance.
Witter has the style to give Hatton trouble and maybe beat him. Everyone has seen what slick boxers (PBF and Collazo) have been able to do to Hatton, they both beat him IMO. I am a Hatton fan, but more of a casual fan, and I think Witter would give him a hell of a fight.

I remember most people on here (again, aside from hardcore Hatton fans) picking PBF to win a wide ud or stop Hatton. Some did pick Hatton, but many more picked PBF. It does seem like a lot of the Hatton fans have disappeared though.

i remember when a couple years ago when the hatton PBF fight didn't happen when PBF was at 140 eveybody was saying PBF was ducking hatton and that hatton wouls apply to much pressure. I said these people were fuckin crazy and that they knew nothing about boxing.

now in 2007 when fight was made everybody on hear said PBF was taking the easy fight and that hatton was no match for PBF. I agree that PBF would when but my respect for hatton had grown some.

I'am a Hatton fan went over to vegas to watch him.I thought it was a massive ask for Ricky to win but i didnt think it was impossible for him to win.He still made PBF fight at his best and made him work for it which many fighters hav'nt.

I agree with everything you said CFH. Seriously, how many people thought hatton was going to win? I'm sure if someone found the poll the overwhelming majority voted for floyd to win and many who voted for hatton just wanted him to win.

If so many people thought Hatton was going to win then why was he an overwhelming underdog leading into the fight?

The results of that poll are surprising. I remember the general consensus being that Floyd would win, but maybe I am remebering it incorrectly. I do wonder though how many people voted for Hatton because they wanted him to win. I would also imagine the hardcore Hatton fans skewed the results a bit. But nonetheless, that is a lot closer than I thought it was. I picked PBF by TKO, but I was hoping for a Hatton upset.
