Hey E.G. Long time no see. To answer your question, I think it's just a case of two boxing superstars (past their respective primes, granted), who could've met in the ring long ago but didn't. Honestly, and as unbiased as I can be, I was never keen on the idea of a Tito-Jones fight, 'cause IMO Tito's power does not translate well into the weights that Jones normally fights at. So when this fight came around, it was hard for me to be optimistic. But all fight fans who enjoyed watching Tito and Jones fighting in their primes were nostalgically hoping for some fireworks, I guess. As I said before, I thought Tito fought better against Jones than against Winky. But I knew his power at 170 would not faze Jones.

Well, we could argue that the two guys that met last week were the two best fighters of the 90s. There is no doubt about Jones, but Tito has a good argument for at least the late 90s after Whitaker started slipping from his prime. Add to that the vulnerability that both showed coming to the fight wich gave the impression that both guys had a good chance of winning so manny regular non-hardcore fans felt it was not a mismatch.

Also this fight came real close to being made and a lot of people I guess were left wanting to see it. This is why I say that Tito-DLH 2 would still sell BIG.

At the arena, Tito was the bigger attraction. In terms of PPVs, I'd say it was about 50/50. You could make an argument for either guy being slightly bigger than the other, but it wasn't a case of either guy being far and away the main attraction.

I'd say the main attraction was the combination of marquis names.

I think Tito was the main attraction for many but for me it was Roy. I actually think Tito still has power at 170 it's just he never really hit roy clean to the head.

Like many i thought this would be a dumb fight but i was wrong.

This is a real easy question, it was Tito. If you look at any of Jones fights in the last couple of years they did not put up those numbers or any where close, it's a shame that Tito did not have better leadership in his career (training, management), if he would have stayed at 154 he could have had more lucrative fights that meant more for his legacy and his pockets ( De La Hoya 2, Mosley, Quartey, Forrest, etc) but his camp forced him to overachieve and fight at a weight he did not need to be in his last 6 fights. He would have not been the attraction that Oscar was but he would have been next in line, I would have choose the Mosley, Jones route and fired my father if I was Tito
