Default 60 second interview - Amir Kahn

Ok so it's my second installment of the 60 second interview taken from Boxing News magazine...

This week it's Bolton's 21 year old lightweight commonweatlh champion, Amir Kahn 15-0 (12)

    Age started boxing: 8

First boxing memory: Walking into the gym, smelling the sweat and seeing the bags being punched

Inspiration: Ali, He inspired me. I always looked up to him and i think the young guys, fighters like Floyd Mayweather alos, because you want to do what they do.

Motivation: All the criticism. You go in the gym and train twice as hard. I also want to be multi-world champion, so i think about that before training everyday.

    Favourite all time fighter: Ali

    Best fight: SRL - Hearns

    Pre fight meal:
    Steak and some carbs

What do you do to relax: Put my ipod on, chill out with my friends and play playstation 3 with them.

What training do you do in between fights: I do a bit of strength work, a bit of jogging and sit ups and press ups

Typical breakfast: Some kind of meat. Fish, lamb or chicken with vegetables or rice. I change it around. It's important to help your immune system in the morning with meat.

Toughest part of being a boxer: The dedication. When your friends are having crisps, chocolate and fizzy drinks, you have to say no.

Last book you read: Soul of a butterfly about Muhammad Ali

    Favourite Film; Scarface

What car do you drive: I had a BMW 6 series and a range rover

    Where do you train
: Oliver's gym in Salford and at my gym in Bolton

Training routine: In the morning i warm up, skip, shadow box and have a really good stretch. Then in my main session, i do pad work, bag work and finish off with stretching. It sometimes varies with sparring depending on when i've got a fight coming up

Toughest man faced: Mario Kindelan. Technically he was very good and physically very strong

What supplements do you take: Loads, i have a nutritionalist, Phil Richards

What would you be if you weren't a boxer: I'd love to be a footballer but i can't kick a ball straight

Last place you went on holiday: Dubai

Best Boxer in the sport today: Floyd Mayweather

good stuff, he sounds like a little kid.

2 Asian Guys at work have left over curry for breakfast. That's awesome if you can stomach it at 6am.

    Must be a cultural thing.

I settle for a Protein Shake and 2 bananas

Subway is awesome! 3 have opened her recently.I've never tried it for breakfast though! Dude,Ono,fish in the morning! Ewww! You trying to put on weight? And doesn't teh fish smell attach to you? I once took tuna sandwiches with me for after the gym, left it in my bag,and when I opened it,there was the most gruesome smell. From the heat egenrated in my bag,all the brine was leaking and it STUNK!!So I proceeded to throw it at my friend

Wel i'm big into weight lifting and training, but am not in a rush to bulk. I prefer to keep pretty lean and settle for adding 5-6 clean lbs per year.

Tuna in springwater is very clean.

    Just fucking stinks

Your girlfriend must be upset in the morning.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
