Default All hail King Stallone, the return of the man's action movie!

Ok after sitting through the utter debacle that was the latest Alien versus Predator film it was with trepidation that I sat down and watched the new Rambo film tonight.

I sooooooooooo needn't have worried! Stallone takes us back to when action movies were great movies, and when the hero's were actual hero's, a badass elite trained killing machine.

Thankfully there's not a single effeminate pizza delivery boy in sight in this movie and Stallone sticks two fingers up at the current era's trend of making nerdy schoolkids out to be saviours of the world. In fact he takes those two fingers and rams them up the nerdy kid's nose and pulls his brains out of his nostrils!

This is a shockingly violent film. It's beyond any other action movie I've ever seen. I'm not sure exactly how many men Rambo kills in this but it has to be in the high hundreds! And it's not just bullets into chest no, we have arrows through the eyes, he slices and dices, decapites men with his machete, rips out one guys throat with his bare hands and quite brilliantly mows down an entire platoon with an army jeep chain gun!

I'll say it now it's hands down the best action movie I've EVER seen, my blood was pumping so hard during this film I'm now to have to take a lie down!

I seriously cannot believe how great this film was, I want to watch it again already!

Thank God for Stallone it's been a long time since we had a decent action flick, 300 was the last time but that was a bit campified. This is sheer brutality on an epic scale.

It also has a great ending, an homage to the first film and finished off the series in brilliant style.

A couple years ago when the rumours of plans for a new Rocky and Rambo films to be made first surfaced I was repulsed and thought they would cheap sell outs with Stallone looking ridiculous.

Well against the odd's he's done a George Foreman style comeback with both films being the best sequels to those first great pieces of movie history First Blood and Rocky.

If you like your action films to be violent and bloody then you HAVE to see this film. It's the ultimate Man's film and is a grenade strapped to balls to the rest of the current movie industry.

Word to all the movie studios, you can take your Alien versus Predator, you can take your Atonement and you take your fucking Kite Runner and your fucking Sweeny Todd and FUCK OFF!!!!!!

I figured this movie would be a wash, But after watching it with my lady, I must admit it was a really great movie. This movie was graphically more violent then The Hills have Eyes and Saving Private Ryan put together. Great Movie, A Must see.

Kind of but he's supposed to. The plot revolves around a group of missionaries being captured and held hostage in Burma. Rambo has been their boatman and took them up water so when the church hires some mercenaries (elite ex SAS soldiers) Rambo's job is to take them to where he dropped of the missionaries so they can begin the process of attempting a rescue.

When he starts to follow them the SAS leader shouts at him 'Fuck of Boatman this isn't a fucking nature hike, we don't need you slowing us up!'

So Stallone stays with the boat and the soldiers move in.

Of course Stallone doesn't really stay with the boat...........

Trust me if your a Rambo fan and liked First Blood, which for me has ALWAYS been the greatest action film of all time you will fucking love this film!

When Rambo arrives on the action BOY is he pissed! In First Blood Rambo was setting traps and taking out the police and national guard who were hunting him but he was just wanting to be left alone, he went easy on them.

In this film he WANTS to hurt them, it's bascially Rambo turned Hannibal Lector and it FUCKING ROCKS.

I'm going to watch it again today!

I agree that the action was intense. It was extremely graphic and violent. I didn't get the ending though. It was very anti climactic for me. Over all I like the movie but not the ending.

I went to see it late at night during the week and there was only like 10 people in the theater. I think I went during nutcase hour cause several of the people were WAY to into the movie. It's kind of unusual to have people yelling "kill that mother fucker!!!" throughout the movie, but it happened several times and it wasn't the same guy each time.

Bilbo, that wasn't you was it?

In the first movie he just wanted to go home, So I guess that's what it meant at the end.

Yup its impossible to explain the end here without spoiling it for those who havn't seen it but it was the best possible ending they could have had imo.

If anyone has watched First Blood which by the way is the greatest action film ever made in the history of ever then you'll Hal Shaper brilliantly sung 'It's a long road' at the start of the film, as Rambo on his way back from Nam stops to visit his old friend Delmore Barry, a fellow Veteran but he's died of cancer. Then Dehenny's sheriff character objects to Rambo's presence in his town and he is driven out literally.

Rambo then spends the next 30 years or so in exile until we are brought up to date with Rambo 4.

This film ending the way it did was absolutely brilliant, after over 30 years of exile Rambo finally went home, a long road indeed!

Honestly it kind of brings a tear to my eye just thinking of it. :P

Great ending I thought, and one of the greatest movie soundtracks ever, love that song.

I didn't get the tie in cause it's been so long since seeing the other ones. However, I saw all of them and loved them. It's just been forever. Now I have to rent First Blood and watch it again.

    Thanks for the explanations.

You mean you don't watch First Blood at least every two years since the time you were 12? Shame on you

Being an anti-social bastard I haven't been to a movie in the theater, except for IMAX's, since I saw the last Lord of the Rings. I might go and check this one out though. When I was a kid I loved the Rambo movies, I used to watch them all the time. A friend of mine told me it was gory as fuck.

I am looking forward to seeing Julie Benz (Rita from Dexter) in the movie. I think she is quite the hottie. Althought she has big feet
