Wink Yea cause Floyd was clearly ducking Williams

So the big man got out hustled tonite, and we have even more intrigue in the Welter division... I would like to see Quintana and Cotto rematch and see Quintana with a little more confidence... Not saying the result would be any different but you can have a unification and a grudge match all in one...

Cant wait to here who is the 1st one to proclaim Quintana the next great annointed Mayweather slayer

    Congrats Carlos

quintana fought his ass off in that fight! Some people been saying for a while that paul is susceptible to right hands, but usually he dished and landed enough of his own punches to negate them, quintana it seemed just landed those at will. Paul needs to start sitting on his punches a bit, I mean he fights a style similar to calzaghes in that he "slaps" his punches but that stuff works for cal, and well tonight it didn't work for paul. Paul I think is still a very good fighter just not as good as some of us thought perhaps. He needs to get a defense because that chin of his as sturdy as it might be will eventually crack, and he needs to learn to actually box like a tall fighter because right now hes a short fighter in a tall mans body really. He also might want to think about moving to 154, that weight class is not nearly as stacked, but then again adding on 20 pounds between weigh in and fight night will take its toll sooner or later, so it might be in his best interest long term.

Good post mate. How do you see Williams/Spinks going?

What a pointless thread.No-one said he was ducking PW but it was highly questionable whether he would ever have fought him.PW has a horrible style for anyone,it's just Quintana had a horrible style for him. So Quintana,a 5ft11 southpaw, natural WW who's best punch is a straight left hand, does that mean Mayweather will beat him too?

Things like Williams porous defense will be why Mayweather obviously beats him.

Before tonights fight I would have said williams, and I still would say williams. I don't think spinks would have the stamina to hang with paul for the full 12rounds, spinks is tricky but has a tendency of fading and paul has more than plenty to go a full12 rounds. I mean around the 6th or 7th round it looked like quintana didn't either but then he got a second wind of some sort. Paul really needs to change his style to one that fits him as a tall fighter because if you're that tall you could really stay on the outside and potshot most anyone to death. Also I'm thinking the added 7 pounds would only help williams.

Yes, Williams is a horrible style for anyone, but Floyd has fought tons of different styles and has had little problems.. Southpaw or not, Quintana was throwing straight right and lefts and landing them throughout the fight.. Floyd would land that laser right hand all night.. The reason why i count Williams out against Floyd is the lack of power.. You need to have power to frazzle Floyd and get him off balance and out of his rhythm... Williams would definitely connect more, but Floyd would 100% land the more cleaner punches which would get him a decision or a KO/TKO hands down.
