Default Biggest upset of the year?Post your thoughts on pW v Quintana here

I've been saying PW would wipe the floor with Quintana and man was I wrong?!The WW division is too stacked lol and I was made to look like a fool by El Indio! However, one thing I never did was discredit Quintana like ALOT of peeps here did. They said Cotto beat an over rated fighter etc? Over rated huh? If Cintron beats Tony(And this fight showed anything is possible), will this be the first time PR has had 3 champs in 1 weight at the same time?

As for PW,he looked slow, sluggish, time to move up to 154 imo.How good does this win make Cotto's DESTRUCTION of Quintana look?!Dam! And they wanted Berto to fight Quintana? He would get brutally exposed!

When I see guys like Macho,I'll rep you,for being so wrong! Who else thought El Indio would win, honestly?

Oh yeah, and Margarito is an idiot! Like I said, had he let his hands go earlier,he would have won the fight v PW.Look how close it was anyway and he gave the first 4 rounds away!Bum!

Now Tony is going to have to fight the PR champions! Margarito, the last Mexican standing v:

    Cintron
    Cotto
Quintana(because he'll want that WBO title back)

    I can't wait!

hey el gamo you seem like a pretty cool dude whos a true fan, but from what i see you post i would have to admit you tend to side always with the latin fighter over the non latin fighter, so i guess this is the one rare exception lol.

Hell no my man,I have no bias,I call it as I see it.I favoured PW over QUintana,I'd favour Mayweather over them all.I'd favour them all over Berto.Latin or not, doesn't bother me.

"Biggest Upset?" NO I am sure there are bigger to come.

Quintana was a real shot for the title, and I don't know what he was doing in the Cotto fight, but this is the guy that I expected to show up. If he moved like this against Cotto--WOW!

I think the 7 month layoff affected Williams in a big way, and I am not sure what type of sparring he had, but there was nothing that could have prepare him for what Quintana brought tonight.

A well deserved victory and a re-entry to the top five in boxing.

    Margarito beats Cintron again...
Cotto beats Gomez, then fights Margarito in the fall

PBF beats Berto for his mandatory, then fights DLH for big money in the fall. PBF doesn't fight Cotto until his value increases. $$Mayweather all day long....

Unfortunately for him, that leaves Quintana to fight the likes of Clottey, Collazo, Chavez, Jr., Klose and other excellent but small money fights.

Let's see how it plays out...

Not only that but people here were saying Quintana didn't belong up there that Quintanas only reason to be mentioned was for beating an over hyped prospect in Julio. (You gotta read Sals prediction thread to get a kick at some of the comments made towards Sal for picking Quintana. classic)

Well being that Cotto, Carlos & Cintron are all champs as we speak yes PR has 3 world champs. Is this the 1st time in 1 weight class I went thru some magazines and a couple of sites and it appears that yes this is the 1st time for this.

Sending some Rep. your way Gamo for the good thread.

Thankyou Mick, have some back my friend and yeah, stupid posting on my part, this IS the first time PR have had 3 champs in 1 weight class at the same time, but for some reason I thought Tony v Cintron was for a vacant title. My bad.I'm going to check the Butcher's thread out. I love that guy,he probably made the thread when he was drunk, like a year ago,and it came true! Awesome stuff!

Well considering that 99% of the boxing world(minus the PR fans and the odd fan like Sal and VD) thought Quintana would lose,I think it's safe to say that it was a HUGE upset. However, due to the fickelties of boxing fans, give it about 6-7months and they'll say PW was rubbish/over rated, what has Quintana done etc etc. You know who you are

Hi Gamo, that was the point ,Who thought that Quintana would win ? Im realist i thought that going happen , you know why? El indio was Hungryest boxer for a long time and that put you in a situation to think now or never, he is a good boxer for the guys that subestimated him.....He is a southpaw hard puncher and with a few a new skills he wiil win Williams.....Thats is what i thought before, i dont know why everybody think that P.Williams is a Threat for all boxers , he is just taller boxer thats all , if you subestimated him : think what would happen with Cotto now? So im not wrong friend...

You were right Macho bro, have some rep from me. I'd like to add that Lennox Lewis needs to be removed from the HBO team. He can barely speak English correctly, and he thought the fight hinged on the last round?! Who threw the harder punches??

As for Lederman,it's time for him to retire.More often than not,his scorecard is so far off,it's embaressing for a guy who was a judge for what,20 years? It was embaressing here again. He clearly calls rounds for the agressor, regardless of what they are landing. He's a maniac.

I think Quintana's lateral movement and holding Williams were very very effective tactics.Williams is still dangerous but El Indio is a new big player at the weight class.Wel done.

I agree that PBF beats every WW out there and Cotto is the only one who has a shot

Williams seems to lack power,I mean most were saying that he used slapping punches v Tony on purpose,I don't think he did.And it showed here.It appears there probably will be a rematch, although I hope it's not straight away!

    Dam that bum Margarito!!!
