In an interview with Gerry Cllan of the Irish Dialy Stra, Macklin alluded to a potential fight with Derryman John Duddy.

His next fight will be with Yori Boy Campas at Irelands National Stadium on March 22nd.

In relation to his split with former trainer Billy Graham, Matthew said:
" You have to be patient and anyway I want to get back to boxing a bait more as that side of things was neglected a bit when I was with my former trainer Billy Graham"

"People forget that I was a very good amateur boxer and I need to get back to using those boxing skills."

Poor Yori Boy Campus, everyone is beating him up today. He used to be an excellent fighter and should retire before he is due to fight my gran next month.

If it's for money that he's still fighting, it's sad but I can't blame him. If it's not, he needs to have his licencse revoked.

Huge fan of Campus. I remember he was on an under card on sky 1992 fighting Roger Turner who was undefeated also. Cracking fight and fighter.
