Default Buddy McGirt's Fighters ALWAYS lose

I cant recall one situation where Buddy McGirt is brought in, and the fighter wins. He is the single worst curse in boxing today.

Wouldn't quite say curse, but he's definitely brought the opposite results in MOST cases. I think he's a good trainer, but he's overhyped and probably changes some things he should have left alone.

...it's all due to his "success" (more like LUCK) with Antonio Tarver

He's a real good defensive coach but he has had a string of bad luck since his big wins with Tarver and Brewster. With that being said, his next big guy could be his own son who looks very solid.

Actually I think Gatti is who put him on the map. He revamped his style and got him to box a little. Which probably lengthened his career by 5 years or so. That being said, I have always questioned his strategy. Especially against PBF. It was criminal in my opinion to try to get Gatti to outbox PBF. Dumbest strategy ever....

That's true.....he is forever stopping fights. It's all well and good that he loves his fighters and all but you cannot ALWAYS do that

Well I won't speak on McGirt as far as his success with all his fighters, but Jason Litzau would have lost that fight with Guerrero even if GOD was in his corner

If Buddy's fighters are cursed and always loose can we please have him work Calzaghe's corner ??

Buddy isn't the worst trainer but maybe a little overrated. a lot of his fighters do lose. IMO he trains to many fighters. How many times have you seen Buddy train the fighter on the undercard and main event. ive been saying this for years.

I think Buddy does a good thing in teaching technique and thinking in the ring. But you can't turn everyone into a "boxer." Instead of building up the strengths of his fighters, he tries to turn them all into slick boxers like he was. This is why his boxers often looked confused in fights and usually lose.
