Default Juan Manuel Marquez vs Manny Pacquiao 2 Final Thoughts.

First off a round of applause for both fighters for amazing fight, few things i would like to say is that both men come back very well from the verge of defeat. When Marquez went down in the 3rd round i thought he was finished but he comeback well and even staggered Pacquiao at the end of the round then went on to win majority of the middle rounds. And Pacquiao also come back extremely well when he was doubled over by a body shot and took a beating from pillar to post, not sure what round that was it was either 9th or 8th but anyway i give Pacquiao a lot of props from coming back from that body punishment, i've been in sparring and i've been hit with some very hard punches to the body and i can tell you it feels like the wind has been completely knocked out of you, it takes incredible courage to comeback from that so i give big props to Pacquiao for that. Im not really going to go into decision but i will just say yes i did feel Marquez won and i will re watch it tomorrow and do a more accurate scorecard. Overall the fight went as i expected except the the 3rd round knockdown obviously. I knew Marquez would lead with right hands, and circle Pacquiao constantly creating angles, and also counter Pacquiao as he was coming in. I think Marquez done a brilliant job of this, and he even got more involved in exchanges than i thought he would so big props to Marquez for that.

Where do they go from here ?? do they have a 3rd meeting ?? or not ??

I don't see how you saw Marquez winning, some rounds he definitely looked like a way better boxer than Pacquaio, but thats because Pacquaio wasn't going anything. I don't see why Pacquaio wasn't using the double jab left hand... some rounds he wasn't throwing anything, but when he turned up the heat and threw the double jab then cross he almost always landed or at least wasn't being countered, but when he fell into a rythm of jabbing, no punching at all, or leading with the left Marquez was too good for that and he countered Pacquaio... It kind of reminded me of Mayweather-judah... in the early rounds Mayweather was just leading in with his left hand, he wasn't coming in off balance and Judah was able to counter him becuase of it, but after he realized he needed to throw combinations he did, and not only did Judah land less punches he landed less % wise as well. The rounds Pacquaio truly punched, Marquez had absolutely no answers, when Pacquaio didn't jab Marquez was able to dictate the pace by changing the range so that Pacquaio didn't feel comfortable throwing the left hand, but where was the right hook to the head or the body? He used it in one round really late in the right and it stunned Marquez.

As for their chins, Pacquaio showed a great chin, and I think a lot of hte times he was more off balance than hurt by Marquez's punches, but he landed some huge punches on Marquez that weren't able to finish the job either. Either way people thought Oscar beat Floyd so I guess I can't expect everyone to see the fight for how it really went.

And i can't see how you had Pacquiao winning 3 rounds out of the first 4 rounds.

It is obviously that Manny's boxing skills has improved. Marquez ate a lot of right hands this time.

The fight was close and could have gone either way if the 3rd round knockdown hasn't occurred but it did.
According to COMPUBOX Marquez outlanded PAC by a couple of power punches, but overall I think Marquez had more instances of being dropped/or wobbled than that of PAC.
Does it warrant a rubber match: YES, Marquez earned it.
