    Default Nacho Bernstein

On Saturday night we all saw JMM fight a fantastic battle against Manny Pacquiao.
In the process Marquez received a nasty cut above his right eye, opened by a clash of heads and exploited quite well by Pac's straight left hand.

However between round eight and round 9 Nacho Bernstein tried to deal with this cut, using only the grease. At the time the cut was agap, bleeding badly and threatening the fight. Nacho fumbled with the grease poking at the wound and wasting a valuable minute which could have been used to seal the cut as was later done.
In that minute Nacho could have hurt his fighter, endangered his vision and lost him the fight.

I realise there is a thread already, questioning the substance used to seal the cut, but I just recall seeing this and although Nacho is well reputed I would view that as highly unprofessional.

As of late 'Nachos' age has began to worry me a bit. It 1st dawned on me during the 1st Rafa vs. Izzy fight.
I think more then anything was the grease that it was really solid.
I think the fact that Nachos holding the container in one hand and the actual grease in the other hand while trying to tilt JMM head at the same time made it that much harder.
You gotta understand also JMM, Rafa, 'Finito', 'Chiquita' among many others would have it NO other way then Nacho handling their cuts and training he's that great.

IMO, only Arcel can be considered greater then Nacho. But right after Arcel 'Nacho' sits comfortably in my books.

Bernstein is a great trainer. I saw nothing wrong with what he did

I realise that Bernstein is a great trainer.
The issue is that he didn't handle the cut well.
In situations where the cut becomes severe, should Nacho not have handed over the responsibility to an elected cutman?

The cut was caused by a clash of heads. Pac got the same cut, but it was dealt with before it became an issue. I was worrieed that the fight was going to be stopped on Marquez's cut and I felt had some proactive work been done by a cut man it wouldn't have been an issue.

    Good Fight.
