Andre Dirrell is back on TV

He will be fighting Anthony Hanshaw on showbox on May 2.


If you recall Dirrell had a fight in which he ran around the ring avoiding any type of fight for 10 rounds. Everyone who saw the fight declared that Dirrel effectively ruined his career with such an intentionally horrible performance.

Some how he managed to get back on TV?

He better give a better performance this time.

I don't mind him getting another shot on the tube.....he's got to realize by now the tap and sprint thing really disappointed a lot of people. I felt bad for stevens, that shit was riddiculous. Both of the dirrell bros showed some promise before this fight and before the other got sick, so i'd be interested in watching him again if he got back to what caught our attention in the first place.

I think he was just super cautious of Steven's power.
Hanshaw should beat him to be honest. Hanshaw has some talent.

Well he did run alot against Stevens, but Stevens deserves some grief too for being so damn slow and not cutting the ring off at all. It was one of those follow around the ring like a freaking lemming.....Dirrell used his speed and movement to his advantage but the output was too low IMO. That was a horrible fight to watch.

I quite like Showtime's portfolio of fighters right now. Guys like Kirkland and Angulo, Walker etc and bigger name stars like Malignaggi, Dawson,Vazquez and Marquez.

They usually put on entertaining shows so I hope Direll steps up and puts on a show.

Hanshaw is pretty decent so should be a good fight.

I agree Bilbo, it's an interesting match-up IMO as both guys have got talent! Dirrell needs a good performance & I feel Hanshaw is just the sort of opponent to bring it out!

I blame them both

I actually like Hanshaw and think he's a tough fighter, so I'll probably end up watching.

I remember thinking that Dirrell was starting to look a little better when he had a fight at the Playboy mansion (against who, I don't know) but then the debacle against Stevens, hopefully there's no more of that, another fight like that and he'll be Majesty's new favorite fighter.

Is this to be 168 then? instead of light heavy that anthony made for the jones fight?.. I assume so.. Well he wasnt terrible against jones..

and its a shocker that dirrel has a tv date after the curtis stevens borefest..
See if he looks as bad when he fights this time round
