IMO he has i just watched the fight and Katsidis done much better than i expected. Despite almost being out in the 1st round he come and competed with Casamayor all the way and even floored Casamayor in the 6th. Katsidis showed he could compete at the top level and i can't wait to see him fight again.

Yea , i think he going learn more with that fight , he is good and i never seen him fight and i being surprise the fight that he made with Casamayor , i don't blame him , he will learn to focus and calm more down when he put more pressure in his opponent , that are a flaws that he will correct for his next fight , so is no loss when you can learn something on it......

Yes. This is what I said in the RBR topic.

    Great fight.

From the moment they both entered the ring and had that great stare down, you knew it was going to be good. I'm glad to see the return of Joel Casamayor. Looked terrible last time out, but lots of movement this time out and he returned from some serious adversity.

However, while Casamayor was the man of the hour, Katsidis pretty much stole the show with his performance. I just got the feeling that we were seeing the beginning We all knew he was exciting, blood and guts volume 2 and that all the superlatives in the world couldn't catch a grip of how exciting he truly was in the ring. We saw that. We saw it against Graham Earl and again against Czar Amonsot but we didn't know if he could compete on the highest level.

Sure enough, he more then competed on the highest level and very well almost won the thing. He didn't have much of an outside attack but he wasn't afraid to rip on the inside and his body punching is going to cause a lot of problems for many years to come. He was absolutely sensational, and his body punching more then anything was giving Casamayor serious problems. I've never seen Casamayor look more uncomfortable in the ring then the way he did when he took those body shots. He hated them and every time one landed, I started to feel my legs drain on my couch at home.

In addition to the body punching, I was surprised at the punch selection. Every combination he put together, it seemed he picked the perfect punch to throw and changed the sight lines of Casamayor, going high to low beautifully, putting the straight right before and after the left hook to keep Joel guessing. And with the exception of the first and last rounds, he wasn't nearly as wild as I previously thought, in fact his punches seemed shorter then Casamayor's most of the fight. You could pretty much tell that it was his first time under the big lights and he had some nerves in him, but you could also tell that he's a guy who will be around for a while. Loved the way he handled himself after the fight, didn't bag on the ref for the stoppage and said all the right things to get back in the ring.

I'm glad for him and think he did very well for himself and any problems he had tonight will iron themselves out over time. He has flaws, but he can work around them. He is pretty much always square but that isn't a problem as long as you have some way of getting inside and you aren't moving straight ahead going for broke which is what cost him all three times he got knocked down.

Yeah I didn't rate him much before and I'm still not sure how good he is but he's probably better than I thought. He's gonna be in a lot of knock out or get knocked out type fights which isn't bad for boxing although if he wants to last longer he could tone it down a bit maybe.

One thing about the body punching, I agree it was his best weapon but it seemed to me that he went away from it a bit in the last few rounds and just started headhunting more.

    I noticed that too.

It was round 8 when Casamayor came back out with that movement and had that great second wind and went back to sticking and moving and that's when the body punching stopped. A rookie mistake I'm sure but it cost him because the body punching was his key to the fight.

Kid has good fighting spirit. He fought an elite for the first time that night and made a rookie mistake. I hope lesson learned for him.

Kats to me, is just a natural brawler. He puts a lot of pressure against his opponents and force them to fight like him.

I would say no but only because I'd never seen him before. That being said, he got caught with a shot he should have blocked easily.

Katsidis did okay. But he was facing a 36 year old Casamayor. 3 years ago Katsidis wouldn't have made it out the 1st round.

I think with a btter efense he could do good things. Needs to work with a defensive trainer, maybe one of the Mayweathers.

The thing with Kats is that i dont think anyone believed he'd be a p4p guy, or even top of his division. What he does do well is make great fights. His last 3, Earl, Amonsot and Casamayor have all been FOTY candidates.

Hopefully he can improve his defense or he may be shot early, his onion skin is a worry also.

I know i'll be watching closely anyway.

Yes I think he did well and handled his first loss well. He can learn a lot from the loss and hopefully become a better fighter. He's young and had only 24 fights I think so he still has plenty of time to make his mark.
