    Default Who's Skills?

This may have been asked before but I have been thinking about this recently.

If by some magic you could take the skills of any one boxer current or past, who's skills would you have?

I am not talking about there career or how they used or didn't use there skills, you would have there strength, power and boxing brain to wield as you wish for your career now

I know this doesn't exactly answer the question but i'd like to have the skills of whoever it is that can figure out a way to beat floyd, other than that i'd take floyd's skills themselves.

Roy Jones at SMW...He had it all...Speed, Power, he was slick...At 168lbs Roy was about as good as any fighter could possibly get...IMO better then Floyd...

    He played with James Toney

    He owned Pazienza

Everyone just likes to think about the Jones who was KO'd by Tarver and Johnson but forgot all about this version of him..

Impossible not to look at those and not realize he was great during his prime

Good topic.... I sent some Rep. your way.

If I have to choose just 1 name: Ricardo 'Finito' Lopez definitely the most complete fighter my eyes have seen. Brilliant defensive boxer rarely tagged in his career. Offensive forget it, power! power! power! some of the sweetest TKOs you'll see.

I'll now give you 1 name per division....

    Lennox
    Holyfield
    Foster
    RJJ
    Toney
    McCallum
    SRR
    JCC
    Duran
    Arguello
    Salvador
    Morales
    Olivares
    Roman
    Canto
    Humberto
    Lopez

Nah .... people like Roy Jones had fantastic athleticism, but their technical skills were extremely flawed. The way to judge a fighter's SKILLS is to check out whether they degenerate when their reflexes and youth disappear.

For me, the boxers whose skills I would most like to have:

Benny Leonard, Jack Johnson and Sugar Ray Robinson.

Pernell Whitaker with power.Lopez is an excellent choice as is rjj,no-one compared to him in his prime.

Currently, for me would be Ivan Calderon OR Juan Manuel Marquez. I LOVE the way those guys fight. Counter punching and pure boxing, awesome to see.

If I could take the physical attributes of any one fighter it would be henry Armstrong.
You can work on skill and strength but what he had was god given.
    Stamina like no other.
A chin bigger than any on Mount Rushmore.
The ability to put on pressure which saw guys simply fall before him
