How do you measure your punching reach?

From shoulder to fist, underarm to fist , not sure ?

can some one tell me

The typical method for years was to measure a fighters wing span, finger tip to finger tip, across the back. Now I believe some are using a method in which a fighter extends an arm, fist closed as if jabbing, and the measurement is from the furthest extent of his knuckles to his chin.
