Did my first time ever hill sprints today to try them out. Yea...definately feel that when you get to the top. I didn`t get to 10 as planned in my new workout below, but that`s the goal. Hurt my wrist on the weekend, so also had a semi weight workout. Anyway...this is what I have come up with so far. Have changed the approach to doing weights some, for eg. military press and squats and so on. Not looking to do tabata protocol...but instead 4x5 sets with max weights for certain things and tabatas for others. Anyway...this is what I have so far and anyone`s input and help is appreciated as always.

Monday: 15 minute stretch (arms, legs, ect.)
3-3 minute rounds- HeavyBag.
3-3 minute rounds-Shadow Boxing.
3-3 minute rounds -Dbl end bag.
8-12 Rounds Sparring (All above at Boxing Club).

Tuesday: 10 minute warm-up and warm down session pad or skipping.
30-40 minute physical workout involving clap push-ups, Bench-press, Squats, Leg raises, Curls, Shadow Boxing with weights, military press, lat pull down, crunches.
Tabata Sprints = All out sprinting for 20 seconds, 10 second break, 8 times.

Wednesday: 15 minute stretch (arms, legs, ect.)
3-3 minute rounds- HeavyBag.
3-3 minute rounds-Shadow Boxing.
3-3 minute rounds-Dbl end bag.
8-12 Rounds Sparring (All above at Boxing Club).

Thursday: 10 minute warm-up and warm down session pad or skipping.

Not set in stone, but a start so that by Aug. 1st hopefully have a good routine heading in tours and championships later in the fall.

Thanks for the inputs, in PM and so on...ya all know who yas are.

I have changed up this recent routine to be lighter with more recovery, more variety and added more core stuff. I appreciate your suggestions. I also now have the keys to our gym and can pretty much use it with access 24 7. Not so sure that is a good thing for me lol...not exactly incentive to go easier.

Some of that weight could be a growth spurt too, so don't worry too much about that. You're in pretty good condition.

Things are good for me. Getting ready for my next tournament and race. I'm hoping to get some other sparring besides my coach before then but it's not looking too hopeful so that kind of stinks. But it will have to do.

Yea, she's pretty cool about stuff. Just not into boxing as she thinks it's violent and hates seeing it. My feelings were a bit hurt the few times she didn't come to my matches and had these last minute excuses, until she explained she just didn't feel she could watch me getting hit and would .

Had some interesting sparring last week. We are mostly a pure boxing gym, but have alot of ties to MMA with ex fighters and such, so we often get people showing up randomly to brush up on their boxing as part of their MMA. My coach pulls me aside last week soon as I get to the gym and asks me how I feel about sparring some pro exciteXC guys here looking for a workout. I was like, wtf...am I gonna get killed? He assures me he'll keep the tempo close and be right there if I want it...and believe me, I do. I wanna spar anyone any time...which I spose could be a bad thing.

Anyway, had 2 3 rounds spars. First guy was shorter and had maybe 10 lbs on me...and...I ...took...him...apart! haha It felt awesome. In fairness this is our world, 16 oz. mitts, no ground and pound and so on, but wow, what a diff. Guy was squared the whole time, had nothing but gaping holes in his defence, and telegraphed ever shot. It felt both great, and I felt bad for how easily I handled him.

Next guy was a lot heavier, had better hand speed and better form, but still, it was closer, but I out-pointed the crap out of him. He was getting frustrated by the 3rd round and started swinging wildly, and caught me a few times purdy hard, but yea. These were pros? I whispered to my main sparring guy who I'm fighting on the 23rd as he was going next against the bigger guy...give it to him (for trying to take my head off) , and he just smiled and went in there and beat him senseless. lol. The guy stopped before the first round ended, took his helmut off and then him and the his other guy decided to spar together.

Just had to put that somewhere, so there it is. Felt awesome. I seriously thought I'd get killed.

So yea, back to training hard again...had a good run this morning, did a full set of hills, 30s up full on, jog down 10s rest x10. Proper warm up and warm down, bit of pad work and skipping, stretching and feel good. Off to the gym tonite.

I'm fixed up with another fight, 30th of August, I'm already feeling fit so I just need to get a truckload of sparring in now.
Need to be sharp in September, I've got two fights scheduled, Champs in October, Exhibitions at Christmas and Champs in February and then Uni Champs in March.

All in all I'll get 30 fights next season and then I'll be all ready for the pros One step at a time

Aug. 23rd Donny. fighting main event for our In House show to raise money. Guy I'm fighting, well, is my main sparring partner as they can't match him up. He's beaten the best Michigan has, Ontario has and fought and beat a tough Russian not all too long ago, and is 10 years and miles ahead of me experience wise. haha Sounds like fun, eh?

I swear I'm catching him though, and he knows it, but I am not dumb enough to think I'm there yet. Thing is no one really wants to fight me, and they for sure don't want to fight him...so here we are. I know him too, he'll go as hard as I go and only get a bit angry if I catch him good. Which lately is getting more and more. I got the lumps to prove it! Hopefully we put on a good show for our fan base and I don't get killed.

After that we are putting a santioned show on, clubs coming from all over hopefully and can get some carded fights. Then early October championships and should be busy right through the winter. Feeling good, just back to working out regular, so we'll see how it goes eh?
