I would get a broom stick, cut it in half, and use chain to assemble them together.

If you can get 2 wood sticks or even pipe about 14 inches each and tie it together at one end with an unbreakable cord about 4-5 inches apart, you got yourself a nice Okinawan 'chaku.

Make sure it is unbreakable and does not come off, as I found out when I hit my head on them and on another occasion nearly smashed the window

Oak wood,chain,swivels,the swivels should probably be capped
