Default Blue Eyes in newborn babies...
+33

Yesterday I became an uncle when my brother and his girlfriend had a baby girl named Alissa May.

My brother (like me) has very pale skin and blue eyes, his girlfriend however is black. We were all very surprised yesterday to find that Alissa has blue eyes. IMO I think that's really cool for a black/mixed race kid. A few people are telling us that all babies have blue eyes when born and over a few months will turn to their real colour.

Anyone know if this is true? I could understand it in a white child but a half caste kid? Any ideas?

I've heard the same thing about all babies having blue eyes, but yeah not very likely that blue eyes will come from a mixed race baby since it's a recessive gene. Congratulations anyway, would be pretty cool to be an uncle, all the respect with none of the responsibility.
