Jimmy had a hell of a punch on him...He also had a soft chin!!!....I seen him get KO'd in brutal fashion more then once....I could be wrong but it was Maurice Harris who had him on the ropes Tommy Morrison/Ray Mercer fashion

Thats some nasty shit. Was strange how he still thought he was in the fight while he was down on the floor! Its similar to a video i've seen of an arabian footballer (soccer player) who got tackled and hit in the head and he kept repeating his fall over and over. Apparently the blow to the head caused this.

No doubt,Harris beat the hell out of him after this KO of Grimsley.Thunder was a physical adonis and 'looked' the part but really was flawed, terrible stamina, and bacame a wiide hooker as fights wore on.Made for good TV fights though.

Yea! I remember watching that on some best of FNF Knockouts or a similar ESPN highlight show. Was a brutal KO and Harris actually looked very capable in that fight.. He was a really inconsistent fighter Harris, when he showed up in shape he was capable of giving anyone a fight and was very dangerous. I remember also thinking he was robbed in his next fight against an old Larry Holmes, have no idea where I saw that fight though..

Wow, just looked up Grimsleys record, his only loss before this fight was his previous contest which was a 12 rd UD he dropped to George Foreman, even winning 3 or 4 rnds by two cards. How the fyack did Big George not startch this man?

It was "Tuesday Night Fights". I also thought Harris beat Holmes that night.

I remember seeing that live on tv. I liked Thunder, he had the punch and the physique, but his chin was about as solid as a champagne glass. Anyone know whatever became of him?
