    Default Jhonny Gonzalez next Friday

My boy is fighting next friday to mark his fourth fight since his KO loss to Penalosa. This is already his 3rd fight in 2008 at least he's staying busy.

His opponent Mauricio Pastrana (34-8-2 with 22 KOs) has the claim of being one of only four people to beat Michael Carbajal (even though he was winding down his career). His notable losses were twice to Rafa Marquez and his last fight an 8th round TKO loss to the super tall Celestino Caballero.

Gonzalez is slowly working his way back up the rankings in his new home at Superbantam. But 43 fights at only 26 years old shows he is willing to keep going, a true warrior. Honestly I don't think Gonzalez will be able to stay at 122 for long, I think his body is gonna force him to go up to 126.

I don't think it will be televised.

Oh man. It should be televised. Mick posted a Gonzalez thread too a couple of days ago about him moving up in weight. He can difinitely compete Luevano or Chris John. Those are winnable fights for him, no doubt. But against guys like Guerrero or Linares?.. hmm.mm I don't know. They are the 2 monsters in that division.

You have to appreciate an active comeback. This will be televised.Has to be.Jhonny Had just crushed E.Ruiz last month. Pastrana although, somewhat used up & undersized here, could be a good barometer of were Gonzalez stands.Without a doubt He will be at 126 very shortly and I think he carries power up,but Jhonny will be in very thick.

Good to see Gonzalez fighting often. I always liked Pastrana as a fighter. But he's above his best weight and is clearly in decline. I think Gonzalez stops him in the mid rounds

I had to check Boxrec on this one, glad to see Jhonny got a 4th round TKO.

Did anyone get to see it? I was busy partying at a resort at Rocky Point
