Punch Power: 43 | | Junior Witter looking for a big match against Manny Pacquiao ... +128 . Junior Witter looking for a big match against Manny Pacquiao ... source: Ringside Report "The Heart Of Boxing"
Over the last 18 years or so, English boxing has held a steady revival that has seen many boxers, men and women, claim world championships and become national heroes. Junior Witter is one of these boxers. The native of Bradford, Yorkshire, has punching power enough to end the fight at any minute and the skills to outbox his opponents. Witter will be fighting at home, which is always of help to the champion, so he will probably feel very comfortable in the ring against Bradley. “The Hitter,” as he is known, is 34 years old and looking for a big match against someone like David Diaz or Manny Pacquiao before he retires. Perhaps a unification bout against one of the greatest ever from the country of the Queens, Kings, and knights: Ricky Hatton, in what would be one of the largest fights in British history. Before he can do all that, however, Witter must not wilt against Bradley. If he is not overlooking Bradley, there is no reason why that should happen. Witter can obviously fight twelve rounds, having been there five times before.

Punch Power: 43 | | Re: Junior Witter looking for a big match against Manny Pacquiao ... If Hatton is not interested in a Pacquiao fight, Junior Witter will also pose as a very very tough fight for PAC at 140 ... Even tougher than Hatton since Witter is a very good boxer too ...
But we'll wait and see first how PAC performs at 135 against David Diaz ... and how Witter performs against Bradley ...

Unlike Hatton, I think PAC will not duck Witter if PAC performs very very well against David Diaz...
If PAC succeeds against David, Witter's challenge is a very attractive one for PAC since it will possibly complete PAC's "3 titles in 3 different weight divisions in 1 year" mission (impossible?) this year...

If Hatton won't fight Witter who else is he supposed to call out? malignaggi is looking like Hatton's next opponent so he's out, Torres and Holt are rematching, it's only natural for everyone to want Pacquiao should he move to 140 anyways.

I agree, one way or another Witter needs a marquee name on his resume, certainly doesn't look like it's going to be Hatton or Malignaggi. It's hard to picture anyone else that can get him the exposure he'd get from fighting PAC. |

Thats what happens when your an arrogant F*** and not a big world wide draw...You get stuck at the mercy of others...Maybe if Witter learned to stop telling how good he is and how someone is ducking him because they don't sign a contract 10 min after you throw out a challenge he would of had a big money fight by now....Serves him right.....
In the press conference the other day he was throwing out names like Torres and Kotelnik as possible fights to unify some of the titles if the Hatton fight does not come off...I asked him why not Malignaggi once his scheduale becomes clear...Since he beat Kotelnik once already and that would not really prove much towards his claim of being the best 140lb fighter in the world....
I never seena fighter back pedal so fast in my life...No lie...All of a sudden Witter starts talking about he does not call out fighters and he only fights itr is promoters who make those decisions blah blah blah....

And then Hatton would f*** him up. | If Witter has the ability to beat PAC, I would have to give Witter more than a good chance against Hatton. |

Why would Witter call out Paulie when everyone knows Hatton-Paulie is set for later in the year?
No disrespect Daxx - but maybe he thought you weren't on the ball?

First off there is no contract, not date, no promotions or anything else set for Hatton/Malignaggi....The fight is not set in stone nor have negotiations even officially taken place.....
And to answer your own question...Why keep calling out Hatton if you know he has 2 fights already set...(Lacanzo already a go for later this month and IF Hatton Malignaggi was a go)....
Not too mention his even saying he wanted Torres or Kotelnik was not until another guy asked him if the Hatton fight can not materlialize then what other Champions or top guys in the division do you have your eyes set on...
So I am pretty sure I am on the Ball |

So I am pretty sure I am on the Ball | Of course it's not official ... but EVERYONE that follows boxing KNOWS Hatton-Paulie is lined up for later in the year. Why do you think Paulie is on Hatton's undercard?
Witter has been chasing Hatton for the past EIGHT years (long before they were "world" champs). Hatton is Witter's biggest MONEY fight by MILES. They are ranked no.1 and no.2 in the WORLD at 140. Witter would like the chance to prove himself top man.
Naturally seeing as Paulie/Hatton are tied up for the remainder of the year he'll seek a unification fight.
What's wrong with that? |

Your not getting the point so forget it...I am not getting into something that I see is going off the track....
Malignaggi is as available as Hatton is....Hatton keeps saying no...Witter wants to prove he is the best 140lb fighter in the world....The fight any of the champions...Paulies name was left out purposley...he back peddaled at the mention of Paulie....Has nothing to do with a possible match he may have with Hatton later in the year | |
