Calzaghe is either #3 or #4. I think someone could reasonably leave Marquez at #3, considering that Pac-Marquez II was basically an even fight. |

I have Marquez top 3, becuase IN MY EYES he beat Pacquiao. He could have easily gotten the decision, and had he done so, he would probably be most everyone's number 2. What does how the judges saw the fight have to do with where he really stands? Why should it change where I consider him to be among the best, because the judges saw the fight differently than I did?. It's all someone's opinion anyways, I just feel he's a slightly better fighter than Calzaghe. IMO, the worst part about questionable judging these days is not even that it takes place, but that so many people are still willing to accept the judges decision as gospel. I'm not saying Marquez Pac was a bad decision either, but it certainly wasn'ta fight that Pacquiao clearly won, so why is he clearly ahead of Marquez p4p? Why is it out of the question to have Marquez top 3 p4p simply because he lost on paper? Being a p4p fighter isn't like having a belt, because the judges can't take your ability away from you.

Good post. Welcome and have some rep. Can't disagree with anything you've said there. You feel about Calzaghe as I do. He is the real deal but he's left it too late to ever become number 1 p4p.
Also agree with the person who said the guys at number 1,2 and 3 will ALL need to have some seriously bad results in the near future for Calzaghe to surpass them. |
