Personally I would rarther see him fight Witter than Paulie I see a very easy night for Hatton against feather fisted Malignaggi | I don't want to ignite an arguement, but Witter's ranking at No.2 (after Hatton) was more a reflection on the lack of depth in the Light Welterweight division at the moment.
People continue to complain that Ricky hasn't fought anyone since Tszyu.
But in trurth there are very few others remaining at Light Welter. Since Cotto's immigration all that remains is Paulie, Torres, Kotelnik, Witter and D-Hop.
Although Bradley can now be added to that list, it is clear that there is little flexibility in the division.
Witter demanded his hot, but in truth, what sort of a fight woulkd it make?  |

Honestly think hatton would of been more dissapointed at seeing witter get beat on saturday than anyone else.
In witter hatton saw a retirement nest egg that would set him up long after he is finished as a pro boxer. Somewhere down the line these 2 would of met and hatton would of made more money off of fighting junior than any other light welterweight.
Now though he is pretty much between a rock and a hard place. If he fights witter in lets say a years time it`ll be not half as prosperous financially as it would of been had he of fought him on saturday. And even if hatton does dispose of junior he`ll AGAIN be accused of beating up washed up boxers. |

If Hatton beat Witter on Sat, it would have been a great addition to his resume (even though Witters rating of no.2 was a bit much) |

Sure, it would be a lot. It wouldnt be much more than by meeting anyone else though - he already sold 50'000 tickets for fighting Lazcano. And Hatton shouldnt really woried about his finances anyway - not after the Mayweather fight at least.
Secondly Hatton's fortune is based on being the premier English fighter. If anyone were starting to doubt that claim, thinking he might not even be the best around his own weight, well, they're proven wrong by now. Without Hatton even having to step in the ring.
Finally - the retirement nest for Hatton is not Witter. It is Amir Khan. |

Even though Witter lost he is still a very good fighter. Every fighter loses sometimes and it doesnt mean hes overratted. Bradley desrves a lot of credit as does Witter. Anyone who had seen Bradley fight before could see that he was very capable of pulling off an upset. Hatton-Witter is still an interesting fight imo.
