Usually when I wake up every morning, I don't have time to pack a lunch, so while I'm at work, I'd always stop at either McDonalds or Burger King and either get 2 double cheeseburgers or 2 whopper jrs. Either one costs $2.14, so it's pretty cheap to eat there every day.

Only problem is lately at the end of the day I'll have a massive headache, and I'm positive it's either from high blood pressure or cholestrol (or could be both ). I know it's different because normally for a headache, a goody powder would cure it pretty quickly, but when it comes to these headaches, it has no effect. Hell fire, I even went and got a head massage, and it did not good!!! (That's pretty much how I can tell the difference between a blood pressure/cholestrol headache and a regular headache...)

Well today I stopped at a restaurant and got a piece of chicken, some mashed potatos, some rice, and a jelly biscuit, and although it may not sound much healthier, I had loads more energy when lifting weights after gettin' off work.

So no more McD's or BK for me, except maybe every once in a while. So is Subway a good place to eat? (I'm not necessarily looking for something 100 % healthy, I just don't want it to be 100 % unhealthy ).

I go to sit down establishments instead of fast food. I think fast food is a shitty value in general and there are too many young people there. I usually go to the bar to eat lunch.

Subway is not only healthy but fricken delicious, footlong italian BMT or steak and cheese is great value and tastes awsome. Plus a much healthier option that fat fried shit every day.

Every fuckin day all I get to eat is a bowl ful of granola, 2 bananas, a yoghurt, a flapjack, a roll, an apple and a bowl of either pasta or rice with vegtables.

Subway is a great place, the breakfast is pretty good also.

My favourite is the meatball toasted.

I'm actually going to subway believe it or not in a little over an hour. 11:20 am here now in sunny Liverpool

Seriousley though clubber it is a lot healthier that Maccies or BK and you can get a load or a little salad on your sandwich too.

I too don't eat out, at all. Sometimes am forced to, as TM has suggested when being on the road, but largely and overall, no.

I think it is just too tempting even with subway where you are getting a healthy sandwich, to get caught up in their $$ over health mindsets. Sure you can get that healthy sandwich, but they'll also try to push the deal combo add on of pop and chips etc on you. And as for McD's and BK, etc...blech. just garbage. I can barely drive past those places without getting the trots!

clubber, do you have a cooked meal at night? Why not make an extra portion and have that next day?

I've used those mini food tubs to have proper food at lunch instead of crap.

As long as you're not on some crash diet Subway isn't that bad, much better than normal fast food. Just get like a 6 inch sub on wheat, something like just turkey and vegetables, if you have to have mayonnaise just tell them not to put a ton on. Its not gonna work for Donny or somebody like that who's (I assume) cutting weight but if you're just trying to be more healthy than its a lot better than McDonald's.

Like has been said, it's better than McDonalds or whatever, but you'd be much much better off to just make extra food at dinner as Missy suggested, and pack it for lunch. Even if it's just something dead simple. Steam some veggies, make some brown rice with a lean meat. Even if you just do it once a week and keep lots in the fridge so it's easy to grab. Although Subway is healthier than most fast food(I guess), it is by no means as healthy as practically any sandiwhc you could make at home much more easily and for far less $$. All of their meat and even vegetables are proccessed and packed with perservatives, there's a shitload of salt in basically any fast food including subway, and it's way overpriced considering the quality. Just go get a good loaf of whole grain bread, some romaine lettuce or spinach, peppers, dijon, etc. and whatever meat you want. Ideally if you were to cook meat for supper just save extra for you sandwich as say chicken breast is a far healthier option than processed deli meat. I know it's hard to get into the routine, I used to just buy lunch everyday too.. But once you work out how much money you are actually wasting considering what you could buy in groceries, it's sort of silly. Obviously if your going to buy lunch somewhere no matter what, than eat whatever you feel gives you the most energy for after work, without the immediate discomfort of eating most fast food(least for me). Also, (I assume your fairly young), keep in mind that it wont be long before going to the gym will at best offset the Big Mac you ate for lunch, rather than allow you to progress.
