The Local Journal made a list of 8 Puetorican boxers that won a World Title during their pass of WW Div. ...........
The Experts not only they based on to the Merits for had win a Champion strap , but also for the amount of succesfull defense and the quality of opponents................
That list of 8 names was provide to somes Experts for place in order and judge of 1 thru 8............

Who was the Best Puertorican Boxer that had made campaign in the WW Div...?
Felix " Tito " Trinidad ? , Miguel Cotto ? , or Wilfredo Benitez ?

The Local Journal took the duty to consult to the Local Experts of Boxing groups for determine , who was the Best Boricua Boxer in the WW Div. and Tito Trinidad was flattering by the Experts.........

Tito dominated by a confortable margin with the amount of 15 succesfull defenses that he made during his career in the WW Div.. , but specially of the way that he dominated his opponents....................

Although Tito was the responsable in finish the undefeated of ODLH .........

When they fought in September 1999 , after that Tito moved up to other Div... , where in the same way won another World Titles..........

Although , others believe that Cotto could replace the Top if keep his actual course in fighting with a quality opponents like he did in the latest fights , but his advance will depend much of the result of the next fight in Jul 26 with Margarito..........

The votes from the 5 Experts , Trinidad received 23 points , Cotto received 19 points , Wilfredo Benitez received 11 points , Daniel Santos with 11 points and others of the list are Carlos Quintana , Jose " El Gallo " Rivera , Angel " Cholo " Espada and Kermit Cintron...........

I my opinion , obviously Trinidad was Monster in that Div.... but in my analisys i dont think that Tito defeated ODLH ..........

" Then we have to place Benitez due that won to Roberto Duran though , fought against Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns , Benitez fough in an Era that the WW Div. was very strong and competitive "...........
" Although , the fight between Cotto vs Margarito will determine the second position , not only will depend if he win the fight , but also how he will win , if he dominate Margaro , then he will have the merits for be over Benitez , we have to wait ".....................

But theres are some who believes that Cotto left enough deep marks for be the Best..............
Jose " Toto " Penagaritano commented ; " Cotto have to be the #1 because he had be a Mostang in that Div.. , the only weak rival that he fought was Alfonso Gomez , he faced with a good boxers like Judah , Quintana and Mosley , only miss Margarito "..........................

But for the Expert Trainer Felix Pagan Pintor , he commented ; " Benitez faced to the Best , opponentes with the Best quality , he fought with the Best of the Best in that Div. , his only flaw was that he wasnt a hard puncher , but had reflexs , he was a real boxer , but Trinidad showed that he was Superior of all opponents that he faced "......................

The veteran Sport Journalist Rafael Bracero commented ; " The quality of the oposition have weight at the moment to make an a fair determination "....................
" Cholo Espada was enough good , but not the Best , he had been in WW Div. for a short time , he practically moved up to 140 pnd to 154 pnd. and Daniel Santos had his opportunity , but this guys are soo good like when they win a Big Fights , Cotto showed beyond to be a hard puncher that assimilate "...................
" Cotto in the fight with Mosley showed that he had mature , he had in loved with his hard punch and thats why he had problems with DeMarcus Corley and Ricardo Torres "......................

Finally the Historian Boxer Mario Rivera Martino commented ; " Tito have to be the #1 by his 15 defenses that he realized "............
" But Cotto has yet the opportunity to improve , depending his performance in the fight with Margarito and Mayweather Jr. if this fight comes ".............................

That was the comments of somes Local Experts of Boxing.............

This is complex because that had been in differents Era , but in my opinion we could determine the Best , of how each of them improved in boxing , his performance and with the quality of boxers ............
With this lines of writting i think that Cotto fill the prerequisites , Trinidad had a good performance , but he never improved his Technicals Boxing , he showed when fought with ODLH , Hopkins and Winky Wright........

DLH was running away from Trinidad.

I agree Pacstraight , but was after the 9th round , his performance looked bad arfter the round 9th , if we count round by round Oscar won that fight and im telling you that im a big fan of Tito ...........

For such a big fight that was sad to see but saying that i do think ODLH boxed masterful fight in the 1st 9 rounds, and the only time i thought he run was after the 9th round. But thats because his corner told him to coast last few rounds because they thought he had it in the bag.

Now about the top WW, well that's all to your opinion...

I mean you have fighters like Cocoa Kid who is all forgotten about. But what an amazing fighter he was in his time fighting some of the best fighters of his time. Fighters like 'Kid' Kaplan, Lou Ambers, Kid Azteca and Charley Burley among others... But I haven't seen much of him to say he's the best.

For me it's Trinidad, Cotto, Santos, Cintron, Quintana, Espada and Rivera.

I didn't list Benitez because I rate him at LMW which is where I believe he did his best work.

I think Benitez did enough at 147 to be rated ahead of Cotto. I mean damn how can you not rate Benitez at 147, but rate Santos? Who did very little at 147. Certainly less than Benitez

Actually Benitez didn't do as much at Welterweight, his two best wins at Welterweight were Carlos Palomino which is a good win, and Harold Weston, he had better wins at Jr Middleweight including Roberto Duran, Maurice Hope, Carlos Santos.

Benitez still did more at 147 than Daniel Santos did. You can't rate Santos at 147 and not rate Benitez

Agree that.Numerically Santos has him but Skill wise,Benitez takes it Imo
