I used to love naz when i was in school and then slowly started to dislike him - after he got more and more arogant and got rid of the ingles.
I know the fight has bee talked about on here before but i have never seen a boxer seem to hate his opponent so much as barrera did that night - it seemed he had most of the world behind him when he was just laying into naz |

That is always a very gratifying video to watch.
I was just watching some older MAB clips back before he was a boxer back when he was a brawler, he was a damn exciting fighter throughout his career, as a brawler and a boxer. If you haven't seen his earlier stuff (when he had a mullet and when he had the Pacquiao part in his hair)
I highly recommend watching it. |

he was good but never as good as he tried to make us think |

He got away with a lot of mistakes because of his quickness but he lacked good form, footwork, balance, etc. He was great at what he did but he was not a great boxer.

Punch Power: 162 | | Re: Will this video never get boring? In that fight Naseem Hamed was beaten mentally which made it so much easier for Marco Antonio to beat him physically. Hamed was so used to toying with his opponents he did not know what to do when a guy came in he could not bully.
Hamed had great power and hit from the craziest angles I have ever seen. He was the first guy I ever seen throw a lead uppercut.
I agree with the poster ICB when he mentioned the balance issue. It was Hameds only real chink in the armor, real unorthodox style but natural ability allowed him to use it.

Punch Power: 2235 | | Re: Will this video never get boring? +51 Naz was such a ridiculous person he deserved to get his ears beat off he put the fight on hostage for an hour because he had a change of heart about the gloves he chose then used another hour for his entrance. That was so gratifying to be honest I wouldn't have minded if Barrera took the padding off before he smashed that prick into the turnbuckle. That act from Hamed should have had him banned that was worse then Robinson trying to leave the arena because the fight was being shown in the UK.

He had a funny schtick, he worked a bunch of money and attention out of it, and now he's gone. Not really all that uncommon when you think about it. |
