Default Who will GBP match up with Nate Campbell?
There's no denying that GBP holds some recognizable names at lightweight. Now who will GBP match up with Nate Campbell?

1. Juan Diaz - already mauled by Nate but a rematch will still be interesting.

2. Joel Casamayor - WBO mandated him to face Campbell but Joel seems not interested. Joel would rather opt to be stripped of his interim status than facing Campbell again.

3. Juan Manuel Marquez - offered Campbell a November fight. Isn't it a very long wait?

4. Jose Armando Santa Cruz - after "defeating" Casamayor, it seems that GBP doesn't want to reward him with a Campbell fight.

5. Joan Guzman - vacated his WBO SF title in order to have a crack on Campbell. Does he has the inside track?

6. Marco Antonio Barrera - at this stage of his career, can he still be a force to reckon at lightweight?

It's just unfortunate for GBP not to have a hold on 2 bigger names at lightweight, Manny Pacquiao and Nate Campbell... Or else GBP could easily realize its dream of monopolizing the lightweight division...

It's not, "too bad" that Golden boy don't have Campbell or Pac, I mean for them sure, but it seems they aren't interested in having any of their lightweights lose. I just hope Campbell get's a big fight, the guy deserves it and clearly won't turn it down.. Is there any more news on a purse bid for Campbell vs Casamayor??

No news yet... Well if Nate wants a big fight, he should try to keep his 3 lightweight belts intact until the end of the year and pray that PAC will be victorious against David Diaz on June 28... This way, a Campbell vs PAC unification fight is highly probable late this year... That will be a BIG fight for Nate...

The last I heard on the Casamayor/ Campbell purse bid was that GBP was negotiating but couldn't reach an agreement with King & wanted to go to purse bid.

At least they seem interested in making the fight.

Casamayor/ Campbell 2 is the fight that needs to be made at 135.

The guy I feel sorry for at lightweight right now is Santa Cruz he seems to be left out in the cold!

Campbell-Casamayor purse bid!

The WBO has scheduled a purse bid for the mandatory bout between champion Nate Campbell and interim titleholder Joel Casamayor "due to the inability of the boxers’ promoters of reaching an agreement." The purse bid is scheduled for 9AM ET on May 23 at WBO Headquarters in San Juan, Puert0 Rico. The minimum acceptable bid is $150,000.

They are definately trying to tie up Campbell by offering him Marquez that way campbell will not be ready to fight the winner of Pac vs Diaz.

GBP now pushing Guzman for Campbell... Can GBP/Team Guzman offer some decent money for Campbell... I've read Guzman supposed to have a $180,000 purse for his canceled title fight with Arthur... That's not a lot of money specially for triple belt holder Campbell...
