Vic beats him now IMO. And Mick I don't see him beating Mabuza. Just my opinion. | I think Arces had it tough lately and I said it before the Mijares fight that he had begun to show the signs of wear and tare so he needed to make the most of it.
I think he's got a good shot at beating Silence.

I think he's got a good shot at beating Silence. | I think Mabuza would destroy Arce.
His best fights IMO at 115 are:
Darchinyan (exciting fight & worthwhile $$$ wise)
Navarro (another exciting fight)
Munoz (another exciting fight)
but I can see him losing all 3.

Arce really had a bunch of soft touches after the second Hussein fight before the Mijares fight so its hard to tell how much he had left for Mijares or how much Mijares took out of him but either way he's looked poor lately. |

Arce's win over Alvarez was impressive but Alvarez may have turned old over night in that one... |

Punch Power: 424 | | Re: What should Arce do now? +121 Arce is exciting to watch but he just does not know how to fight southpaws at all, as evidenced in 3 of his last 4 fights(Mijares,Rojas and thai dude). He has definitely declined and his power is not what it was either(although he never was a huge hitter). I used to think Arce would rip Vic a new one but coupled with his being wiiiiiiide open to the straight left hand,I think Vic wins
And he's calling out Vazquez? Is he insane?! Vazquez stops him early imo! Not sure where Jorge goes from here to be honest. |

Punch Power: 162 | | Re: What should Arce do now? I like Jorge Arce his style is exciting. I know he is not a great fighter but you do enjoy the show he puts on or at least I do. I liken him to Arturo Gatti just smaller in the fact he is limited in ability but will go all out until it is over.
The payday at those weights is not too impressive in a fighter sense so I think Arce needs to cash in on his appeal sooner then later because with performances like these last few opportunities will soon become scarce |

Either way he clearly hasn't looked good lately, just look at the Rojas fight.
This last win earned him a supposed shot against Mijares. That's just not smart, he'll most likely get stopped this time.
They should find one last big money fight for him, maybe Darchinyan if they could manage that?
Anyway did anybody see the fight? I've got the download like 95 percent finished but its taking forever. | darchi-arce would be one hell o' a fight but i don't think it happening is anywhere near the horizon coz vic's slated to face kirilov and has been aching to get back at donaire. i hope their promoters would consider it coz i think it really would sell.

Maybe he thinks he can beat him I'm sure his promoters and advisers know better.
Would be a cash out fight.
As for the southpaw thing, not sure why he keeps fighting them.
Galaxy, I think Alvarez was past his best and past his best weight. | |
