Punch Power: 12746 | | My Hands On Review of Don Kings Prizefighter!!! +1614 I was totally wrong about this game(So we get this out of the way)
PROS=CAB is the best in any game EVER
=Music is good, More than Rap this time around(But still includes it)
=The Actual Fighting, If you give yourself time to adjust and learn the controls you will be knocking fools down with three, four, five punch combinations(I do it all the time)I hated it at first too. But now I love it.
=No Crazy Sig punches
=Great Career STORY mode(The Story is about the Heavyweight fighter you create people)
=Graphics are more detailed than FN but not as flashy(But this games Graphics rock in a more dark, dirty boxing way.
=Training is a blast(Much more to choose from,Much More!)
=Swelling,Cuts,Sweat and Blood are top notch.
=No losing Attributes that you work so hard getting, No getting Fat.
=Clinching and very inclose fighting. Just all around fighting is solid once you get good at it.
=Defense, Alot like FN(which is a good thing)
=Multiplaya, Plenty of Knock Outs and Close Decisions
=Traniers advice, Try it.. IT WORKS(In between rounds)
=Ring Card girls, From Rags to Riches(Enough Said)
=When you fight for the Championship, It shows the Belt
=Legend fights from the 60's till now matches the era fawlessly
CONS=Only can fight Heavyweight in Career mode(But still is Great)
=Learning Scale is steep from the start(Your lucky to land a jab at first)But stick with it and those five punch Combos will check that chin
=Camera Angle takes a while to get used too
=Punch Collision Detection is off some times(Moderate)
=Still missing top Fighters(But with the Awesome CAB anything is possible
=Only three defensive styles and two offensive Style
=Slow Movement, But work on your agility and you will be running like Jones Jr
=First Time Effort, Will be better next Go Around
I'm a huge boxing fan, I have been to countless fights small and huge, I have played every boxing game(Almost) from here to Atari boxing. Trust me guys give it a chance, and learn your in's and out's.

Punch Power: 5438 | | Re: My Hands On Review of Don Kings Prizefighter!!! Cool, sounds like a decent game....at least good enough to try out before FN4 is out.
So you can only create heavyweight boxers?

Punch Power: 2793 | | Re: My Hands On Review of Don Kings Prizefighter!!! I'm sorry Country Boy but I think this game is crap compared to FN3. I can't get over how slow the game is and when trying duck and dodge punches is a pain in the ass because its so slow.
I played about 4 or 5 fights and said that was enough for me. I didn't even give the CAB a try. When I first get a game I usually go into the exhibition mode first just so I can get use to the button changes and everything before I start a Career mode I didn't even get that far because I thought the game was shite. The way the boxers throw punches reminds me a Simulation game, it looks so forced and feels like it also. To me the graphics do not even compare to FN3.
I guess we both have our different opinions. Anyone who wants the game can go to ebay and buy my copy because mines listed there.

Punch Power: 3152 | | Re: My Hands On Review of Don Kings Prizefighter!!! I have seen the bad reviews but a friend of mine who is a boxer said that the game feels more like boxing than FN3 in that you are setting up the punches rather than just being the quickest (in an arcade way).
I'm gonna give it a go and I have read that the game starts slow but after training your fighter up it gets more responsive.
Thanks for the reciew Countryboy its made up my mind as too buying it.

Punch Power: 11286 | | Re: My Hands On Review of Don Kings Prizefighter!!! Aright I rented this game, I will say this the controls are definately not as good as fight night much less intuitive and more Mortal Kombat like.
The phantom punch thing is very frustrating.
The career mode is much better than fight night though, the story is like watching a documentary which is very cool. There are a lot of current great fighters.
All in all I actually liked it better than most of the reviewers I read about online, but probably not as much as CountryBoy. I probably will buy it though as I'm getting tired of destroying the computer on FNR3. One of these days I'll get Xbox Live.

Punch Power: 3152 | | Re: My Hands On Review of Don Kings Prizefighter!!! Have bought this game and really like it. Great Graphics and the controls are fine once you get used to them. Not played online yet gonna wait til I get better.
Well worth the money andmore realistic in that you have to judge the distance and get the timing of the punches right. |

Punch Power: 16358 | | Re: My Hands On Review of Don Kings Prizefighter!!! My brother reckons it's pretty good.
I had Fight night on xbox 360 and whilst I really enjoyed it for 24 hours after that I was bored shitless.
I retired at 10-0 as I was too bored to go on.
This game sounds liks the career mode will give it some life at least. |
