Default I know this is sacrelige to talk about but...

Has anyone seen the Paulie Malignaggi documentary called "Magic Man"?

I heard it goes through his life from early days until he loses to Cotto. I can't find it anywhere, and I'm not entirely sure I want to, but...........

Yeah I saw it on Showtime before his Ngoudjo fight. It's more like a propaganda film than a documentary. Gives a little insight to his hand problems and his training. He is portrayed as a gym rat and alot of the footage is him in the gym training/sparring, and some build up to the Cotto fight. Its a good watch though, I like the music. Paulie is pretty straight up when he talks about the Cotto fight.

I watched it thinking "this is the most pointless film about a B-grade at best fighter ever."

Not at all. I don't hate powderpuff. Far from it. I find him very entertaining.. just don't understand why people rate him so highly, that's all.

I was just bustin your balls a bit. I think people rate him highly because

    a) He's got a title and he's a flamboyant American
    2) the 140 lb division doesn't have all that much depth right now
    d) He's actually a pretty good boxer.

I think the doc is on youtube. I watched it there a few months ago

After watching a documentary on someone...anyone...it is hard to dislike them. Or at least dislike them as much as you did before. It kind of ruined me not liking Malignaggi.

So be warned anyone who can't stand him and wants to keep it that way.

    I agree, they're fair points.

Mainly people seem to rate him because of his loss to Cotto though.

I agree and until he fights Hatton that's exactly what people will remember him for.

In all fairness, he did show a yard of guts against Cotto - I'm not a fan by any means, but I can respect someone with that much heart.

Exactly. I though it was a crappy piece of propaganda.
