Default Anyone catch the Berto fight?

This is kid is likely going to be the best fighter in the world. He retardedly fast, and not only that but he hits like a mule. I think he needs to keep his hands up a little more, and he needs to go to the body more, but if you ask me who will eventually beat Floyd should he come back, its this guy. Berto has faster hands than Floyd, he's bigger, stronger, and he is this good, but he still has a ton of improvement that can be made.

He looked good for sure. Would like to see him in with a more lively opponent; but maybe he was just so much better he made the kid look like a bum. Very fast hands. Seems somewhat mechanical, but it's working so far. I too would like to see him go more to the body, though he did pop Rodriguez with some good body shots. I thought he did much better with his hands being up than previous fights. Cintron or Clottey is who I'd like to see him in with next.

I think he'll be better in the future but he'll never beat floyd and he does not hit like a mule.

If he went to the body more he would have a better chance than anyone else out there. Also he hits really hard, I have no idea what your talking about. Having a record of 22-0(19KO's) is a guy who can hit very hard, and you can hear it when he lands.

I don't know taeth, most fighters start out with high ko percentage. I just don't think he hit like a mule, that can be intact still as he move on up in weight. His young so ofcourse he will be moving up, do you think his ko percentage will remain high as he grows? plus his level of oppenent are suppose to be getting ko'ed don't you think. that is if he really is any good.

Most fighters don't usually maintain their high KO percentage for as long as he has against the opponents he has of late. 99% of fighters will decline in KO% as their competition gets higher, and they fight at higher weights so I don't know what your trying to prove? Cotto hits really hard, and he isn't KO'ing everybody like he used to, that doens't mean he doesn't hit really hard. Berto does hit really hard, and he will be at WW for quite a while. Also I don't necessarily think his opponents are meant to get KO'ed, Rivera has a great chin, went the distance with Mosley among others, Estrada went 10 rounds with Cintron and has a pretty good chin, and Miguel has never been KO'ed. I am not saying Berto hits like Ketchel, W. Gomez, Zarate, etc. what I am saying is that he hits really hard, and along with his speed he will become IMO better than anyone else out there.

The kid's not that good, but I'll reserve judgement till he steps up and beats someone of stature.

Thats the key with him Imo.Very odd,He has won a title but his level of comp is not that Impressive. In His last two fights he has shown much Improved hand speed & is changing up the pace nice, glad to see he is varying his punches & power. Not a devestating one punch hitter but speed is power in & of it self....but he has aloooong way to go before I go and say he is ready for The top welters.

Look at Cotto back when he was 24 getting hurt by Demarcus Corley and whatnot. Now I think he is one win away from being the best or second best fighter in the world.

There is plenty of young and old competition in the Welter Weight division and I look forward to seeing Berto in the future and see if he can live up to the hype.

Berto might have the fastest hands I have ever seen. I'm not sure how hard he hits, I think a lot of his KO's came as result of speed moreso then power. The guys who have been able to see his punches have taken them pretty well like Rodriguez did and Rivera did a few fights back.

But he's definitely a good fighter with ridiculous hand speed. Still has a lot of work to do, really needs to get a better defense. I also wish he had more of a jab and didn't try to work inside with his fast hands that much. He's been hit with the left hook throughout his career and back in his amateur days. Also, he's a pressure fighter I want to see someone move him backwards. That's the big test if he ever faces a top tier guy the big key is going to see how he reacts to going backwards.

He kind of reminds me of Aaron Davis actually.

Amat you got it...Can he fight backing up?Good point.Right now I do not think he can with top tier!I think a tip top Davis would TKO Berto at this stage.

Rodriguez looks like combination of Christian Mijares and Johnny Gonzales (not talent wise).

I can't believe the Mexican police canned him.

I agree Berto isnt a huge puncher. But hes a nice fighter to watch.
