Default Congratulations to Abraham and his fans!

My boy looked good for the first 2 to 3 rounds. He applied the pressure and was able to get though Abraham's defense now and then. But, like I have said, Abraham is one tough bastard and hard to hurt. Abraham took the punches well and let Miranda get a little tired and confident. Miranda walked into that right hand early in the forth and I dont think he was able to shake it off. Soon after that huge left hook was all it took. I was surprised Edison was able to get up from that! He showed heart, but I think he was physically done at that point. The last shot that ended it, didnt look so bad, but I cant argue with the stoppage. Edison looked fine shortly after (unlike Pavlik where he really got hurt and took a brutal punishment).

The future is going to hard now. He will need to once again rebuild his name and confidence to get another big fight. I will always be a fan and support him, but after 2 big KO loses to two of the best P4P hitters out there, who knows if he will ever be the same and compete at the top level.

After the fight I talked to Pantera and he said he has never felt power so strong before. He said the shots he took felt like a basball bat had hit him in the head. The first fight he says Abraham's punches didnt bother him much, but last night it was a whole different power.

So to all you supporters, it was a great win for you. If he gets his wish and fights Pavlik, I say he Arthur wins. I still am not sold on Kelly, but Abraham is just too tough. I dont know if he can be hurt. Kelly leaves himself open, and Abraham will connect. I am looking forward and hope it happens. Should be a great fight either way.

I am not going to be reading through the many threads about the fight. If you have something to say to me say it here.

Well done Pantera for coming here and giving Abraham his credit when your boy lost badly that takes some bottle and shows some character. I personally didn't see the fight in fact like i have said to my fellow members i haven't really been following boxing for over 2 months, but i think Miranda is just short of world class, he is a brave fighter and always comes to fight and you have to admire that, but we also have to face facts here, everytime Miranda stepped up against a world class fighter he has lost, im not sure how much this fight will effect him mentally but lets hope not too much. Im not sure if he can ever pick up a belt with the Middleweight division being quite strong at the moment and the Super Middleweight being even stronger. So im not really sure where he goes from here but Abraham vs Pavlik is a must see fight before Pavlik moves up IMO.

Yup, it's definitely or should be Pavlik-Abraham next!!!
Regarding Pantera Miranda this is no longer an issue of a fighter not fighting in his rightful weight nor is he downright shot, he probably needs an overhaul in his style or approach in using his power. It's not the end of the world for him, PAC got kayoed twice, look at him now

Abraham is a very, very good fighter and maybe even underated. He has good defensive skill and counter punching ability with power. That all sneaks up on you suddenly, just like it did Miranda and many of his fans (like me). And fighting with a broken jaw the first time? He will forever have my respect for that one. That had to be the most unbelievable performance to survive. Never have I seen a jaw that busted.

Didn't get to see the match this weekend.

Gutted though. I'm a pretty big Abraham fan & was pleased to see this morning that he had pulled out the stoppage over the weekend.

Sorry for your bwoy there Pantera.

Good lookin' out for Abraham. Sounded like a smoker.

Abraham didn't look pretty doing it (he is really stiff and I know that's a European stereotype but its true in his case) but he is a strong dude and kind of hard to hit with that high guard.

    Good post Pantera.

    Here's a good point...& being a fan of both Pavlik & Abraham...I gotta agree.

Pavlik vs Abraham will be a tuff hard fought win for Pavlik.

While I love Pavlik...Abraham is the sharper boxer & uses his defense while lining up his pin point accurate offense. I would have loved to have seen this fight...one...because I am no Pantera fan...two...because Abraham sounded like he was on point.

If I have to pick from Pavlik Abraham...I say that Abraham's the winner...just based on his overall skill level.

Pavlik's a warrior & strong & gutty & all that...but he leaves barn door sized openings & Abraham would capitalize on that.

    Simple as dut!

Abraham is far too defensive though and notice against Miranda he was on the back foot for the majority of both fights against Miranda, and Pavlik is a lot better fighter at putting fighters on the back foot not allowing them to get there feet set. It wouldn't surprise me if Abraham did put Pavlik on the floor, but i just think Abraham hasn't got the work rate to beat Pavlik. And i can see Pavlik stopping Abraham late on in the fight.

Abraham is bordering on boring. If he didn't have the KO power he really would be utterly boring.

Pavlik will build up a big lead before gettting KO'd. I thought this before the Miranda fight. No need to change.

I hate to say this & sound snooty...but...WHUT?!?!?

    Far too defensive?

Here's the thing...there's far too defensive (ie : Winky...& I love Wink...but he's peek a boo) & then there's fighting smart (ie : I just got back in the ropes w/a fool that broke my jaw in 2007) which is exactly what Abraham does.

Seriously though...Abraham's a smart boxer that packs an assload of power in his gloves. I have'nt seen this fight...so I hate to comment...but I just can't feel you on that lable for Abraham.

I've seen a bulk of his bouts & no where do I think that the man's too defensive...& you know me ICB...I loves me some defensive masters.

I would have though Abraham a fool if he charged out there & fought fire with fire like Miranda ALWAYS does. Had AA walked into that ring head on...he'd have been dropped...& believe you me...Abraham has a beard.

I really want to see this fight on ShowTime & not streaming.

    Gotta see the bill...someway...somehow.

Oh yeah...agreed on the work rate deal with Pavlik...that could be the winning step right there.

I think he is Wacko sometimes he just does nothing in an entire round then he opens up with a barrage of punches then he goes back onto the defensive. Im not saying thats a bad thing because as you know i like defensive fighters like Mayweather, Whitaker etc. But it is against someone like Pavlik who puts you on the back foot constantly and once Pavlik gets you on the back foot and you let him get leverage coming forward its all over. Abraham just isn't active enough and although he is a better fighter than Miranda was on the back foot he will still get out worked and eventually stopped late on. Like i said with Abraham's power it wouldn't surprise me if Abraham did knock Pavlik down, but i still seeing Pavlik winning TKO late in the fight.

I certainly wouldn't want Abraham to win, like ICB says he just sits there for long stretches of time, I don't think he's bordering on boring, I think he is boring, very boring, but I'm afraid he might stop Pavlik, like Fenster said, with Pavlik ahead on points.

Yeah my prediction is based on Abraham being a "lucky" funker. Pavlik would be winning easily, with Abraham doing nothing, then bam! Lands something and finishes him.

And it wouldn't be good for fans of entertaining fighters
