Does anyone on this board really believe Floyd is retired for good or that is a buisness scheme so a fight with Cotto (providing he gets past Tony) will generate big bucks ? I predict that Cotto will beat Tony and all the media hype surrounding Cotto will get to Floyd's ego and he will end up facing him eventually.

Bargaining tactics

He is hoping for cotto to beat marg convincingly therefore making himself the number 1 p4p fighter which will inevitably lead to floyd being paid ridiculous amounts of cash to get back into the ring for 1 last time.

Being a huge Mayweather fan...I can honestly state that he's made some idiotic choices of late...the wrestling thing...bailing on Oscar...& so on & so on & so on.

I'm not sure if it's especially get hype/get more money for a Cotto fight in particular. But would bet my life savings that Floyd has not fought his last fight by any means..

I can't tell if he is thinking that far ahead but I think the only way he can make a fight as big as a DLH fight against someone other than DLH that would still get him the highest praise is if he waits till Cotto fights DLH and if Cotto beats both Margo and DLH, which even though Cotto should be the favorite would be pretty tough, than Cotto - Mayweather would be HUGE.

I think he will be back. Why you ask? Well right now he thinks he is some sort of entertainer and that he does not need boxing. He will realize at some point within the next few months that it was a pipe dream and that boxing is what kept him in the limelight. He will miss being the center of attention and will make a comeback.

I don't expect Mayweather to retire for good unless he's lost his will to fight, and train for a big fight because IMO, one of the things that sets Floyd apart from the rest is his training regiment. Nobody can train like that unless they have the desire to be the best of all time. If PBF loses that desire and trains poorly for a fight, he will lose. He knows this, and as a father, he might wanna hang with his kids more often, or something like that. If that is the case, then he should 100% retire because 20 years from now, his legacy will be cemented if he retires undefeated.

Having said that, I see him coming back in about 3 years (ala "Sugar" Ray Leonard) to fight the #1 contender that he was accused of ducking when he retired.
