Thread: So, Holt-Torres 2 is this Saturday

On Showtime Saturday, anybody interested?

Holt is a funny fighter, he can be explosive at times and entertaining but on the other hand he can be incredibly boring. See his fight with Ben Tackie, horrible horrible stuff. John Ruiz, Rocky Juarez and Zahir Raheem were all a bit disturbed.

Holt might potshot and run his way to a decision. I'm not sure, still haven't made up my mind.

I'll be watching. I've only seen a few of Holt's fights and he was pretty entertaining. Torres is all thunder, though.

My uncle called me one Saturday it was one of these where nothing was on and he asked if Holt-Tackie was a live fight that night. I said no it wasn't and described this bout was coming up and they were probably hyping it. He calls back and asks if I was sure that they were trying to hype the fight, yeah positive why? Because that was the worst fight I've ever seen and I hope Torres has the power to knock this guy out. I forgot how bad of a fight that was, completely slipped my mind until I watched it that night and it hit me again. I felt genuinely bad about it that he watched the whole thing and I didn't warn him.

What was Showtime thinking?

I'll bite.....i think the first fight was riddiculous. I think the claims from both camps were a little exaggerated but there's no arguing that there was some inteference how much it affected the outcome i'm not sure...but either way this is holt and torres second chance, I imagine holt is going to come out for the kill, if that's good or not i'm not sure but i think this will be a fight worth watching...I'll pick holt to even this one up. Will we all stay awake is a whole different question. I think we will though.

The first fight was a farce Joe Cortez would have been proud of, i also think Holt exposed Torres as a limited banger nothing more.

I want Torres to win IMO he is the most exciting fighter at 140, but Holt does seem to have his number im not sure what way i'll vote. Either Holt wins a UD or Torres catches him and stops him late on tough fight hard to split em IMO especially with Torres's power.

Holt was pretty lucky to loose their first fight...not to think what would have happened if he won...I guess a live threatening situation...

This saturday Holt should be 2 to 1 or even 3 to 1 favorite...Torres will need a ko,but might get one...

Yea I read(think it was on fightnews) that Holt is actually a -300 favourite to win this rematch. I actually haven't even seen their first fight, Holt must have been well ahead prior to the stoppage in order to have those kind of odds behind him.

holt wins one of favorirte fighters

I think Holt wins this. He might even get a stoppage! But I feel if he gets caught he'll be on his bike & box to a boring decision

I think Holt stops him.

I will definitely watch this fight. There seems to be lots of intrigue (at least for me) because of all the controversy of the first fight. If Holt is able to box/move his feet then he can win a UD. If he becomes stationary and tries to bang with Torres, he will get KO'd. I believe Torres will come out different than in the first fight and I give him the very slight edge.
