Enzo is a prick! He could've easily voiced his opinion in a much more calm sense. I can't believe he criticized Roach, Stewart, etc. Let alone mouthing off against Hopkins. C'mon man! Hopkins was no way even close to the way he used to be and all of a sudden Enzo think it's the greatest accomplishment in the world? Enzo is a prick!

Enzo is a confident one, he doesn't bother me so much his boy has (reguardless of how) managed to stay undefeated so i'll give him props for his part in that, but i don't take too much of what he says too seriously. They're trying to ruffle our feathers a bit, and sell tix. Hard for me to belive he honestly belives a lot of the blah blah that comes out of his mouth. Probaby just had a red bull or something.

err.. that's Enzo after the medication. He doesn't get any calmer.

And to be fair, he hardly criticised those trainers by pointing out their fighters have lost to fighters trained by UK coaches

Has he got a lot worse since winning 'trainer of the year' award? I can't remember when he was such a gobby git. Maybe he just gets more press attention and has always been like this.

Is funny though some of it

Enzo Calzaghe reminds me of a WWF manager, always ranting and shouting about somthing.

Still I got to say I have meet him a few times and he is a nice bloke eve if he is a bit mad.

Aso he made me a cup of tea when i visited his gym i Newbridge.

count your self lucky then, coz they three a t shirt one of them had been training in at my head and told me to make it, and has hustled me out of money numerous times playing switch.

To all the cry babys - um exactly what he has said that was wrong? PErsonaly i have said i think khan needs one of the big us trainers if he doesnt go to newbirdge, i think roach would be a good choice

BUT the fact that a lot of their fighters have had losses recently, major ones and some to british people is correct, why is everyone crying over that. It is not like he is saying that they are bad trainers - just pointint out they are not gods as their fighters have lost ot british and british trained fighters, so whats the big deal?

Shit he even hinter haye whom he has slated in the past would beat the best ranked heavyweight.

    Jesus, dry ur eyes girls

    I understand it.

He feels that he never got the respect he deserved until the Lacy bout.

Enzo is bitter towards America as America was bitter about Joe for years.

    I love the guy!

I think it wise not to take him too seriously too as whatever you think of Khan,I like him BUT not his entourage, the fact is that he rightly believes that the best coaching opportunities lie on the other side of the pond.....as he saw on his last trip.

Anyway with all due respect to the great Joe Calzaghe...who was the coach that allowed himself to be decked in the 1st in his last fight against a boxer who was 3 years past retirement( even if Hopkins is/was a TRUE great)?..

Only takes a second to get dumped, just as Ali did against Wepner you wouldnt hold it against Ali or Dundee would you?

Wasnt a knockdown as in hurt he was off balance, Kessler hit him much harder.

    He is absolutely spot on!!!

Although id say rather than going to Calzaghe, Kahn should go to Brian Hughes, who Enzo mentioned.

Brian, or whoever takes over from him as hes retiring, would be a very good choice, he teaches his fighters how to defend, which Amir hasnt.

Hes had good succes over the years with the likes of Robin Reid an d Michael Jennings, he has consitancy.

Some of Enzos success has come off the back of Joe, getting better fighters joining him because of Joe, Enzos test will be after Joe retires, how his fighters do. If they dont see a successfull Joe to train alongside and start losing they might all abandon ship.

Although that being said, where else is Kahn gonna get all that quality sparring on tap?

Id say go to Hughes or Calzaghe and bring the occasional american over for sparring, it would be cheaper than moving there, I dont like Kahn and cant see him going far but if Warren wants to invest in him, get him decent sparring partners over, some who give him different things to think about, old pros who know how to spoil, survive and cheat, also young ambitious fighters to push him.

Enzo is right though, going to Roach aint gonna solve the problem, I dont think and Steward, for every success has had an equally high profile disaster.

He is right regarding the British media. They overhype everything (main cause of pressure) and expecting their fighters to dominate all the time. Hatton, Hamed and even Joe C are products of overhyping by British media. Look what happen to Hatton & Hamed when they fought top caliber opponents. Look at Joe C when he fought old Hopkins, he can’t put a convincing performance considering he fought a past prime fighter. The truth is Joe C was exposed in that fight with Hopkins that a 43y/o can put Joe’s ass in the blue mat (even if that was an off balance or whatever reason Joe C call it). British media are over the top in crediting their Brit fighters. Enzo knows it that’s why he is blaming the media on pressuring Amir.

Regarding trainers, well, he is acting like a member of the Mayweather family. The only difference is that the Mayweathers talk but they back it up and already proven great trainers w/ excellent fighters in their stable. Enzo talk s*** against other trainers but who has he trained world class besides Joe C (a protected fighter at best)? Stewart, Roach, Birmingham and others with the exception of Floyd never discredit other trainers’ ability. But they are the sought after trainers in the world of boxing. The great Lennox Lewis a Brit, work with Manny Stewart, look what he had achieved. Compare that to Joe C who can’t even unify all the belts at SMW division to where he reigns for what 10 years. Let’s wait after Joe C retires if Enzo can produce a world class fighter. Until then he better shut the f*** up... Amir can go anywhere he wants. That's what a fighter should do.. looking for the best and be with the best.. whether its in america or at home...
