    Default Maccarinelli-Banks ?

    Maccarinelli-Banks in UK!
Enzo Maccarinelli will enjoy home advantage in his fight for the vacant WBO world cruiserweight title challenge against Johnathon Banks after promoter Frank Warren won a purse bid for the fight. Warren put in a successful bid at the WBO's offices in Puerto Rico on Tuesday. Maccarinelli is aiming to recapture the WBO crown he lost against David Haye in March this year, and the Welshman was delighted when he heard the news about the purse bid. "Frank Warren has delivered for me again, and I can't wait to get back into action and win my title back. The loss to Haye was hard to swallow because I know I could have done better but that is in the past and I'm focused on getting back to winning ways again," said 27-year-old Maccarinelli. Banks is supposed to be the next big thing in America, but I'll cut him down to size." A date and venue for the fight will be confirmed at a later date.

Good to see Macca back lets hope he can pick himself up after his loss to Haye.

I am glad that Enzo has got this shot at his old belt because he is a geuine nice guy even thought you got to ask what has he done to deserve it apart from being a Warren fighter.

Maccarinelli is much much better than he showed against Haye.

Lets hope the spot light doesnt snare him again because he is actually a good fighter.

I wont bother watching this fight...

He wins the belt, fair enough, but he is already damamged goods.

He ran his mouth about Haye over and over again...

And we all know the rest...

Yes he is a lot better fighter against people who are not very good.

He got in with someone good and got KOed.

So if a fighter loses 1 fight against a very good opponent they should be thrown on the scrapheap? No wonder some promoters/fighters tend to choose easier opponents to keep their 0 in tact, i'd rather see the better fighters fighting the better fighters rather than people going theyre whole career fighting lesser fighters just to keep a nicer looking record. I understand what your saying about Maccarinelli but surely he deserves another shot, the Haye fight was like a rabbit caught in the headlights but I dont think we'll see him like that against Banks.

Sorry i think I didnt make my point.

It would be stupid of anyone not to go get a World Title.

I just mean it means less for Macarinelli, as he is only getting it because the man who destroyed him has left.

Will always be on his mind, he is is not the TRUE World Champion
