Default Andre Berto: "Shane Or Margartio...I'm ready!"

Even though Berto's fighting Steve Forbes on September 27th, he says he's ready for Mosley or Margarito.

"I believe we will be fighting Forbes on the 27th and if everything goes well, we will be looking for Margarito and Shane and those top guys next year."

ANDRE BERTO: "SHANE OR MARGARTIO...I'M READY!"

    Good luck with that.

Berto is a fighter who is either as good as he is going to get , or he may end up being a star , im totally undecided which one.

    No doubt.

I still have questions as far as his chin is. Cosme Rivera{if I remember rightly} barely tapped him, or so it seemed, and the guy was looking in trouble. It's hard to hit him flush, but when he steps it up he's going to get those whiskers tested.

Let's commend him for at least saying the right things. I have a lot of faith that, win or lose, Berto will be amongst the elite at 147 pounds. I think it would be too soon for Margarito, but maybe he could handle Mosley. Both guys would be there for a full 12 rounds, but Mosley doesn't bring KO power. Berto's probably faster and let's be honest, by next year Shane will be 38(?) and if speed is your best asset, then a naturally bigger, younger fighter who's at least as fast as you has a couple ticks in the plus column. If he can beat Mosley impressively I see no reason why he shouldn't take on Margarito. I suspect his power is greater than Cotto's and with his style he might be able to keep Antonio off him. I have to see him fight Mosley before I'll believe that, though.

If Berto fought Margarito at this point and time all he wouyld be ready for is retirement....

As I said leading up to the Cotto fight....

Margarito is the baddest MoFo in the 147lb division....And that is saying a lot

People have a problem with Ring having him at #6... I can't think of 7 people P4P that can touch him... So I don't get their arguments.

He is absolutly the top guy. I have been pulling for him for a while.

He would obliterate Berto. It wouldn't even be funny... Like people would be cringing.

    You Berto lovers listen up!

Berto is a flash in the pan.

I have to see him avenge his loss to Paul Williams before I agree with that. Williams looked pretty dominant his last time out too. Or the 'most feared' could just wait until Williams can't make weight anymore.

I agree, I'm a huge Berto fan and been pushing him for a while, but its to soon for him...

Lets say this fight does happen beginning of the year, and Berto hangs with him or by the grace of God squeaks out a victory he will have payed to big a price since he needs to tweak some defensive flaws, although he vastly improved he has a long way to go and would probably not be the same after the fight

Couldn't you say the same about Margarito? Sure he's got a hide as thick as an elephant, but Berto has some CRACK. The fact he's fought at middle and junior middle is testament to him being a big welter. He could very well hurt Margarito in a way no one else has been able to in the past considering Margarito also has defensive flaws and let's be honest- at least early on, Antonio will be absorbing the bulk of the punishment.

Well I agree to an extent, Berto has excellent upperbody movement and ultra fast hands to go with above average power... The thing is he lacks the experience mentally to go in with a guy as seasoned and grizzled as Margarito... Cotto couldnt deal mentally with the pressure and I doubt Berto can too

Like stated if he was to win and get torn up in the process it would be detrimental to his career moving forward to have dealt with such a tall order in Tony.. I would of said the same thing last week before the Cotto fight... Andre is 2 move up with steady competition fights away from MArgarito

I wouldn't call Margo "turtle slow"... and Tony CAN and DOES walk down EVERYONE. He is entirly the man at WW.

Berto would take a vicious beatin from the likes of Margo.
