Default Khan - I'm with the greats now

British boxing sensation Amir Khan has spoken of his delight at joining the legends of the fight game on Sky Box Office.

The 21-year-old Commonwealth lightweight champion will make his Box Office debut on September 6 against unbeaten lightweight Breidis Prescott at the MEN Arena in Manchester, the first event in a multi-fight deal that is expected to take the Olympic silver medalist to a world title.

The Bolton star is relishing the prospect, telling Sky Sports News: "To be up with Naz, Chris Eubank, Frank Bruno, Mike Tyson - they are living legends. To be alongside them on Sky Box Office, it means a lot to me and my family. When I took up boxing at the age of eight, this was my dream."

As for his Colombian opponent, Khan added: "He is a well-known name in the USA, he has had 19 fights, won 19 with 17 KOs, so he brings an undefeated record, as do I. It's going to be a tough fight but I have been training hard for this fight. I am going to go in there with one thought in my head which is to go in there and win."

This lad has a head full of magic!!!, if he thinks appearing on PPV makes him a legend he is in for a shock when he gets in with someone who can bang I will not be watching this joke of a PPV fight!!

"Head full of magic" Too right!

It makes me cringe when he comes out with shat like this. I'm really looking forward to seeing just how many PPV sales there will be.

So is this guy a big name over in the states then. I don't think so. He's only ever fought bums. He has fought 19 opponents that combined only had 85 wins. Thats an average of 4.47 wins per opponent. Nice matchmaking again by Warren. Definitley worth putting on PPV. What a f...ing joke.

I said in another post but why is he fighting a guy that is based 4,000 miles away that has 3wks to get ready and travel half way accross the world when the uk has a wealth of talent at 135lbs?

If Khan thinks he is that good he would tell Warren to match-make him better. I`ll never be buying that joke ppv.

The guy he's fighting is a bum who barely managed a 10 round SD over another bum in his last fight. Fukking joke. Get him in with Yuri Romanov.

It is Sky hyping this fight hoping to get more sales. they will never let us know how many sales of PPV they get. that would be an embarrassment to them.

Fuck Khan, he's been given the benefit of the doubt by many fans (me included) and has been rewarded handsomely financially without facing a decent opponent. I've gone from rooting for him to improve to hoping he gets knocked the fuck out next time, and I'll be fucking laughing reading the result on the websites as well cos i sure as hell won't be paying a penny to watch this joke.

The barometer for 'greatness' in boxing has shifted too much from ring achievement to how well you can con the public to watch your shows, ppv's of any kind are damaging, ppv's for meaningless shit is beyond taking the piss.

I think we forget Khan is only 21 and says pretty much what people tell him.

When he announced his bodyfat was down to 1.5% I think he clearly indicated that he was merely parroting unknowingly what his trainer, probably tongue in cheek told him.

I expect Warren has told him it's a great honour to be on Sky Box office watched by a couple hundred thousand people so he can make Frank more money, rather than on ITV in front of millions but where Frank doesn't make as much cash.

Same here . The only regret about nto getting his fights is that im gonna have to read the result on here rather than watch his first loss. I paid for Hameds fights even though I always wanted him to lose but im not paying for khan especially at this level . Maybe if he fought Casa or Hatton that would be worth a tenner so see him get crushed .
