I love winky one of my favorite fighters but I think he should hang em up. He shouldn't have bounced up in weight all the way to 170 if he couldn't make 154 he should have stayed at 160 after moving there, and rematched taylor...now he hasn't fought in what over a year and by the time this fight would come about it would be like 18 months since his last fight, he should just enjoy the money he's made over the last few years.

It is a great fight. I am really happy that people are talking of Winky fights. Anyone who knows me--knows who I am cheering for!

Would be a very decent matchup. Winky has been inactive and didnt impress against Hopkins (who does?) but going back down in weight he would most likely be more active and will have learned from the Hopkins experience.

Winky didn't learn anything and doesn't need to. he is the greatest. But going up in weight and all the shitty calls led to his loss. But change the circumstances and you get a clear UD.

I'm huge Winky fan and I think a match against Abraham would be a great way for him to get back on track. I've seen plenty of people say that they thought he won the Hopkins fight, I've never actually been able to watch the entire fight (ugly, ugly fight from what I've seen), but I am concerned about the effect of the weight fluctuation.

Agree, well he might not be one of my favorites, but the issue about weight and inactivity was right on!

Where's the fight going to happen? I'm not sure he can win a decision against Abraham in Germany. Abraham is good enough to make a close fight of if , if not win outright, and if it's close, we all know what will happen on the judges cards.

Personally, I would love to see Winky get that share of the belt. That would set up Winky/Pavlik for unification, and I would love to see that. Also, if Abraham were to come here and beat Winky, it would be huge for setting up a Pavlik/Abraham fight.

Very winnable fight for Winky Wright Arthur Abraham doesn't put the pressure on and normally goes into defensive shell not throwing punches i could see Winky Wright outboxing Arthur Abraham over 12 rounds i think this is a the best fight for Winky Wright to comeback too its very winnable fight and it would do alot for his career.

Geez talk about two guys who like to go into a defensive shell? I can see compubox now 12 rounds...

    Wright 50/300 (280 jabs)
    Abraham 60/300

I do not think that Wright is going to come back as strong as he was. He is an amazing boxer, and probably still one of the most feared matchups for anyone today even at his age. He WILL get a big fight before he retires, but remember people, isn't he like 36 or something already?

Depends on how past it/rusty Winky would be at that point, if he's still viable he could easily outwork/outbox AA. Similar styles in some ways, one guy works a whole lot more.

Although Wright faced Hopkins for the light heavyweight championship at a contract weight of 170, he told Dan Rafael he's coming back to 160 and would even go to 154 for the right fight. He also mentioned that he has gotten as heavy as 198 pounds during his layoff.

I do hope the layoff hasn't affected him.

If it hasn't i expect him to win a decision.

This will be a great fight if it will push thru. The inactivity of Winky i think doesn't affect him and will not create a problem. what im worry about is if Winky demand an unthinkable purse which might cauze the fight not happening. Abraham is an excellent fighter and against Winky it will be a good test for him.
