Default Cotto: where does he go from here?

Should he rematch Margarito or take a tune up fight?

Well apparently Cotto and Margarito are going to be fighting on the same night in I think it was december and should they both win apparently they have agreed to go again which I would be happy to see.

Can Cotto reverse the result? Well I don't think he can stop Marg but if he can keep his head for 12 rounds I think that he can outbox him and take a decision.

Margarito and Cotto are set to fight again summer 09 so it would be one fight for each, then each other.

I personally think Cotto should take on Berto (after he beats Forbes) or Cintron. It puts his name back on the market in a big way!

I don't know what fight everyone was watching but Cotto was winning the fight until he ran out of gas!

Michelle Cotta should stay away from Magarito and Williams. Though I wouldn't mind seeing him get knocked out again. So make the rematch happen, I'm all for it.

That is sort of true, but I was watching Cotto winning on points against a solid brick wall that was just waiting to squash him at the right time and it did.

Cotto needs a tune up before another Margarito.. He needs confidence boost before facing the beast of the division again..

As for Margarito on the other hand should fight Williams.. Margarito v Williams 2 will be for the WW best. and Margarito should forget Oscy cause it ain't gonna happen. Instead of bitching out he rather go after the man who owned him.. and that is Williams.. i don't know why there's very little on here talking about this fight.

If a rematch will immediately happen, the result would be like the 1st fight... Cotto must have tune up fight first...

I am telling you guys that fight just like Vargas vs Trinidad made Cotto damaged goods. If he fights Margarito he while end up like Vargas after Oscar got done with him knocked out. Think that Cotto should stay away from Margarito but if he wants to end his career so be it.

I think he goes right after the winner of Berto-Forbes...he should really work on his stamina and if he is able to do that he's got what it takes to beat Margarito.

Cotto shouldn't fight Cintron right away because Cintron while having a questionable heart has the biggest punch in the division and Cotto doesn't need to be thrown in with a guy like that for his first fight back.

Cotto won't be like Vargas because Vargas couldn't box worth a damn and he was in love with his power an therefore easy to counter. Cotto while having very good power still boxes at a very high level and he outboxed Margarito for 6 rounds.

Personally,I can not see a different outcome should the two rematch. For the most part, everything speculated and pointed to in initial lead up came to fruition on both sides.Cotto showed tremendous stick & move, top notch hand speed and accuracy.Margarito showed his overall strength & volume arsenal in company with great endurance. He's pretty crafty at tucking his elbows into his body & pin pointing that short upper-hook up & down Cottos side.

Maybe it's a bit simplistic but no need to over complicate things Imo.Bottom line,Cotto will have to detour and hurt Margarito repeatedly to win this.I believe if he looks to make this an inside grappling affair hoping to rip shots off and spin out ,Tony's all over strength will accumulate and again be overly taxing. And on the ropes, forget about it.Ive seen it repeatedly..."Cotto got winded,he got tired". Well,he reached that position for a reason, because Margarito was all over him from jump off point.Think Cause & effect.Cotto was not outboxed,he was out fought.I think Cotto can reclaim his status and go onto some great things but Imo,he should steer clear of Margarito.

It's not fair to Margarito to say that Cotto lost the fight because Cotto "got tired." That makes it seem like Cotto lost because he wasn't in shape.

Cotto was in great shape, he didn't lose because he "got tired," he lost because Margarito made him tired with an effective body/head attack.
